Hi folks, I recently picked up a nice Chambriard folder that came with a pretty nice leather slip sheath, but it will not see any use and thought I'd pass it along to someone on the Traditional forums.

It will accommodate a folder about 3 3/4" long and up to 1/2" thick and 3/4" wide or there abouts.

Ok the rules for this as it will be short and sweet.

Must have at least 200 posts in the Traditional forums and have not won any recent give aways in the past 6 months.

Post that you are in and a pic of the knife you will most likely use the slip sheath for would be an added plus.

This Thursday nite around 7pm or so Eastern std time, I'll run the random number thingy to pick a posting number and will mail it out the following day.

That's about it, the sheath is medium tan colour or there abouts, is stitched down one side and along the bottom with an opening flaps on either side.

Thanks guys and gals and may the best post number win ;)

Not an entry...have won in the past six months. Just wanted to say thanks Gary...you're definitely one of the good guys.

Gary, I was carrying this 72 red stag this past weekend and I actually was wanting to get a slip for it. Would love a chance. Thank you sir.

Thanks Mike and Brett, lovely knife sir, not sure she'll fit in there, worse case, you'll have to buy something to fill it ;)

Not an entry..............Just like to add that " Its very nice to see this sought of thing on the internet" I am sure the sheath will give someone a lot of pleasure. It is always nice to look at something useful and appreciate someone gave it to you as a gesture!:)

Good luck to those that take part!

Not an entry; just to say the sheath probably comes from Millau, the "leather city", with great reputation since Middle-Age for fine gloves and all things leather (veal, lamb, galuchat, exotic leathers,...frog!); from time to time some Aubrac cow leather is available (there should be more in the future as before they discarded all the skins at the local abattoirs, now they choose the best to be kept and used by local chromeless tanneries).
Limousine and Aubrac cows are very ancient and they can whitstand the long mountain winter outside, giving fine meat and strong yet supple leather.

Another very kind gesture Gary (I was very impressed to read of how you used your limited time at the recent GEC Rendezvous to help others), thank you :)

For some reason, slip sheaths are hard to get hold of here. I have a couple of nice ones from Barry, which are ideal for my 15's, but this sheath would be great for a number of larger knives I have, such as this old Carl Schlieper scout knife. So please count me in, and thanks again for everything you bring to The Porch. Good luck everyone

Not an entry as I've one a GAW by a friend on here but can't say enough about how helpful and generous you are Gary. A slip sheath GAW is great since I think people often overlooking buying 'accessories' for their knives and would rather spend that money on the knives themselves ;)

I've always wanted a sheath for my Alox Solo, maybe even the Pioneer. Thanks Gary!

Thanks folks and yes, the rules, well, I did lower it down to a more friendly level, so that will gather those that participate here on the front porch more ;) and just think, each post gets you that much closer and of course, you make friends along the way, not a bad trade for your time ;)

Nice info, appreciate that, but that one calf on the left is giving me the evil eye I think ;)

Glad you posted, I just tried my Black Alox Pioneer in there and it's a PERFECT fit, I already have a soft leather slip sheath I made for mine but...if I had this earlier lol so that will help folks know about what this slip sheath will hold.

Oops! Thought you said you lowered the count, but guess that was before I read it! Anyway, good luck to everyone!

Yep I did have it at 500 so I dropped it down a ways

Thanks for the generous GAW, Gary! Did you make your own sheath for your new Chambriard? I'd love to see a photo; your leatherwork is always splendid!
If I'm fortunate enough to win, I'd probably use the sheath for one of these horn Jokers, or one of these stag canoes, or the black Pioneer or Green Farmer.
