Mr Knife's Never-ending Give Away: Round 55, Double Nickel​

From the pack of knives that arrived today, I kept this folder;​

and I added the following;​

Browning stockman, which I have sharpened to it's betterment​

Spork...for those wandering days ;)​

And, on the Spyderco Roadie I made a nice lanyard so you can keep the tail hanging out of your pocket for easy retrieval, the knife was part of the group already, I just made the lanyard using a Viking Rune bead.​

Here are the rules

I will let this go until next Wednesday and will use the random number generator to pick the winner.

Just popping in to say that I'm glad to see this is still happening. I don't have anything to add to the box, so I'm staying out of the pass-around, but good luck to those involved and keep it going!
 
I understand the thought behind the “only paying member” part, but other factors should be considered so more people are allowed to enter.
Just food for thought- unless I am looking his profile incorrectly the “member only” rule would exclude the originator of this whole pass around idea!!!

Indeed it would restrict his participation, and I’m sure he is aware of that. It’s been a long running event and things change, status change, lots of things change.
I believe that stipulation is, as you seem to know, to help keep the entire forum running Spark Spark Would appreciate the intent.
So I’ll not change it on this one, easier to message someone that is a paying member as well

Just some food for thought I won one of the Mr Knife GAWs a while back when I was a newer member and before I was a paying member as that wasn't a requirement then. I actually won that box from Gary, and now I'm a paying member and even holding the Case Pass Around GAW. So this never ending GAW definetly acted as a gateway drug for me to eventually getting a paid membership and trying to be more active. Again just sharing my own experience, end of the day I'm fine with what the community wants to move forward with.

Thank you for your insight, but the overused word “hardship” was not written my me nor is it applicable to my situation. I agree that it is easier to follow the rules, and I do in all walks of life. I made a simple inquiry because my thinking was that long standing members who have participated in the pass around several times prior should be grandfathered. You might want to consider other possibilities before making a post like that in the future.

Edit to add- I will continue to participate in this forum because I like knives and the people here. I will not be renewing my paying membership for a reason that I will keep to myself. I will stay away from this thread moving forward, I am not trying to stir up anything. I am grateful for the times in the past that I participated in this amazing tradition and will be around to see many more rounds go through the hands of our wonderful members here:)

And, lets not be pointing fingers at who has hardship and who doesn't, this was and is meant to be a community type thing, not sure when it changed to state that a person should be a paying member, but that seems like a small request for a low entry fee for sure.

This one ends on or around next Wednesday folks...

Only 5 folks right now in the running, that's pretty good odds and just a couple days remain
I was tempted by that Camp knife there, the spear blade is quite thin, has some patina on it, which for some reason there is a following ;), myself just never liked things with a patina much.
