It's a good way of doing that I think too.

MANY years ago at one of the Ashokan Seminars, we had Brian Lyttle as one of the guest speaker/demonstrator, he covered grinding a sword and then how to engrave, he was a very generous and interesting fellow and is dearly missed. But he had brought a knife he made, with secret steel ;), which turned out to be O1 tool steel which he liked quite well for it's overall properties. And he held a raffle for that knife, we were ALL interested in getting that knife to be sure!
SO, we all wrote our names down on a slip of paper, dropped them all into a large bowl and he would draw a name, look at it and after he read off the name said "LOSER!" and laughed. He did the picking in reverse order so the winner would be the last name in the bowl. Made everyone wait until at least their name was read off and told that they were indeed a Loser :) and the last one called received the knife and a fine SHARP knife it was.
But I'll never forget how he made that drawing more interesting by going in reverse.
And no, I didn't win, because, as he rightly pointed out, I was a Loser ;) on that particular day...

You may recall that Brian was the fellow that made the folder for the movie "The Edge" and actually had a small role in it at the very beginning of the movie.
