Been a member of Bladeforums for a little over 3 years, lurked for a long time before that. I've learned a lot from this forum as a whole, but I must say The Porch is a pretty amazing place and I wanted give something back. The first traditional pattern I purchased was a yellow delrin Sodbuster Jr in CV. Even with all the different patterns I've tried, the sodbuster is still in my top 3. Winner will receive a Case Sodbuster junior and full size Sodbuster, both in stainless. Please include in your post what pattern was your first traditional knife? Let's keep the rules simple. Have this open to members in the CONUS. Must be 18+, 1 entry per person, post # will be your entry. Winner to be picked by random # generator. I'll keep this open till Tuesday the 4th, 11pm est.

My first traditional knife was also my first knife. It was a Buck 379; a simple single-blade in a handle. Thanks for the chance!

I'll play
My first was a Case Red bone jack.
Of course all threads need pics

Congrats on your 100th post! My first traditional was technically a Victorinox Classic when I was a kid, but my Northwoods Broadway Jack was my first real traditional that started my obsession. Thanks for the chance!

Thanks for the chance! My first was a US Uncle Henry stockman from my grandpa!

My first was a little victorinox when I was a kid. First one I bought myself was a tiny little buck, unsure of the model number.

Thanks!

My first slipjoint was also my first knife: a SAK minichamp.

I admire your reticence in taking so long to reach 100 posts. (I talk way too much.)
My first knife was a tiny watch-fob knife my dad had ground the edge off of. He took it away immediately because the first thing I did with it was threaten my little sister. Later he let me use a tiny Colonial serpentine 2-blade jack.
My first knife of my own was probably my cub scout knife (4 blades like a real scout knife, not 3 with a liner lock which is all I see today).
Great GAW. Thanks for the chance.

Not an entry, but my first knife/traditional was a Victorinox Classic wearing Philadelphia Eagles scales, pretty cool little knife (still have it). I love the Sodbuster Jr. pattern - it's ergonomically perfect in my hand and that super thin hollow grind makes a nice cutter out of TruSharp.

My first was a steel handled camp knife, in retrospect probably the Camillus demo knife. That one is lost in time. The first one I can clearly recall is this Loewen Hippekniep that I bought in Amsterdam in 1970. I still have it.

Nice knife gesture sir. If a Buck 505 Knight counts, then counts me inz. I still have my Buck. I keep saying one day I will send it in for a Buck Spa Job, but yet to have done so. Ironically, it only costs a few bucks to send it in.
Thanks!

Very generous Launchpad. My first was a Colonial Barlow my grandfather gave me for helping him with some fencing. I still have it and had Glennbad bring it back to life with stag covers,

My first was a medium victorinox with the space shuttle on the scale. Thanks for the opportunity!

Thanks for the chance. I'd say my first was probably a Buck two blade slip joint that my grandfather gave me. Unfortunately it got lost in a move when I was still a kid. We lost the whole box that it was in and I wanted my knife back more than my other toys that were in there.

Cool idea.

My first knife was a two bladed Case my father gave me one Christmas when I was a kid. It lived in my tackle box for many years and then at some point it was no longer in my tackle box.

My first traditional knife was a Buck Cadet stockman when I was about 12 yrs old....and I went on to become a cadet myself at West Point 6 yrs later.

My first was a Camillus Cub Scout knife received for Christmas.
Will never forget getting it. Some day, my son will inherit it.

Tanks for the opportunity!

My first traditional was an Old Timer medium stockman.

That was the 30 or more years ago. That one was stolen at school. Out of my coat pocket when I hung the cost up.

Thanks for the chance.
