Winner selected - Finally hitting 100 posts - GIVEAWAY

I'm in! and thanks for the GAW! My firs knife was many many years ago and was similar to a scout knife....

Wow. Thanks for the chance.

My first traditional was a Victorinox Climber, a gift. A Swiss graduate student came for a year to a school in town. We were both table tennis players. The local club where we first met, didn't quite have the competition level for him. Weekly, I drove him about 45 miles away to a different club so that he could get some competitive play with some of the best players in the state. The week before he left, he gifted me the climber. It's probably been about 25 years now. I still have it.

Honestly, I don't remember for sure what my first traditional was. It was either a Swiss Army Knife, or an Old Timer. I'm just not sure if the SAK was my dad's and I borrowed it, or if he gave it to me. Either way, I started carrying a pocket knife semi-regularly at about age 6. And I also lost all my knives I had when I was little. But then as a teenager I started getting more into less traditional knives. I carried a stiletto for a while, and then made the switch to cheap modern folders.

It wasn't until a year and a half ago that I bought up a traditional again. That first traditional knife in 20 years was... a Sodbuster Jr. I love that knife, but my wife has claimed it. Since it is the only knife she seems to like, I let her have it.

But that wasn't my first traditional knife that I have had as an adult. That honor would go to the lovely Barlow that Eyedog gifted to me when I asked the Porch what would be a good first traditional.

Very nice of you! I'm in, please! My first traditional was a Case Texas Jack, back in the 70s.

I'm in, thanks! My first traditional and first knife at 6 years old was a hoffritz swiss army classic that belonged to my uncle who passed before I was born, so it's very sentimental as well. It has a small leather pouch that has our shared initials engraved. The first traditional I bought was a buck 110, probably 5 or 6 years ago.

Not an entry as I have several Sodbusters already,. As can be expected when living in Haute-Savoie my first was an Opinel. Probably still lying in the high grass somewhere...

This is not a picture of the actual knife, which unfortunality got lost many years ago, but this was my first knife and first traditional:
