Winner Within - Camillus Double Give Away

Not an entry but I will contribute a pic to help you make it through the winter.

A nice little camp spot at Red Lake

I do love just walking around Campus. OSU has some lovely spots. (secret squirrel note: I actually tilted this photo because the lamp post in the foreground is slanted, and it makes the picture look wonky because it is a man-made thing and our brains assume it should be plumb, but we tolerate slanted trees no problem)

I also like the magnolia in my backyard

I would love to enter this GAW , but I've been sick since my birthday so this is as good of an outdoors picture as I have

I'll let these pictures be standins until I can get some kind of better picture.
They are at least outside, and my dinky little town is surrounded by farms and foothills so they're sort of in the wilderness.
If I was to win one of these beautiful knives would go to my uncle.
He loves a small slipjoint about this size ( the reason why he hasn't opened the Vic tinker I got him last year )
But is currently using a frost cutlery of some kind.
He's a a gun guy and would probably like the rimfire version.

I'm in if my pictures qualify, and thank you for the generosity.

Here's a shot of my yellow rose bush out front, I went out front to water them and discovered we've got a few coming in.

And a bunch of my neighbors bee's were hanging around.

Winter is mild but still dreary here. Here are a couple places we love and some pics I enjoy looking at when the cold settles in and everything is dead for the winter.

Falls we like to hike here locally

An "oasis" of sorts at a place in Arizona we hiked

Dock in Charleston that we were Married on

Boardwalk to the beach in FL

And finally, sunset on that same beach

Hope these help, they do me!

Not sure if the spirit is for the pic to be current or not... but here is something from my other hobby.

The North Slope of Atigun Pass - heading to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska on a solo ride from TX to the Arctic Ocean and back.

Dude - you made a direct hit on my bucket list.
Have not been on a bike since my last crash in '85. Damned things were supposed to kill me outright. Not keep hurting me over and over. lol
If I ever got on one again, it would on a big cruising bike to ride the Al Can Highway on my own from beginning to end and back again. Starting and stopping when I want - camping when I need or want to, and likewise for a hotel.

I hope your trip was every bit the heaven I believe mine would be.

Excellent idea for a thread and GAW!

Problem is, it's perpetual winter here  and the sun doesn't get going nicely on the snow until February. The leaves don't appear till mid May, sometimes later....o_O

I'll try and get a shot of a great tree at work on Monday, provided there's no blizzard:D:eek: All the trees I've planted lately are still small, in this area most idiots seem to be obsessed with cutting trees down and not replanting. Trees are the future, more than ever.

Regards, Will

Nice GAW! Tree pictures on my phone are my only option right now, the the pickings are slim...

Here is an oak next to my driveway. The purpose of the picture was to take a picture of the cat but you can't see her very well:)
The next picture is better, it is a Colorado picture that we took last summer.
