WINNERS SELECTED

Thanks to everyone who participated; I really enjoyed reading your entries. Many were humorous, and almost all were insightful. It reminded me again, what a great community of individuals we have here, and what diverse backgrounds and interests most of us have (aside from traditional knives of course).

Before announcing the winners, I should apologize to about half of you. As I mentioned in my original post, I let my wife select the winning numbers and assured you all that she was quite ‘random’. Turns out, that wasn’t exactly the case. After she selected the numbers, I pointed out that all of the winning numbers were ‘even’, to which she replied, “I don’t like odd numbers, who would?” I simply had no answer to her question, but I suppose she could’ve just as easily been opposed to even numbers. In the end, in addition to learning more about each of you, I guess I also learned something new about a woman that I’ve been married to for much of my adult life. On to the winners:


  • Winner 1 (Northfield Stag Congress) = Post #72; T. Erdelyi, who is a fan of the Iron Pigs minor league baseball team and the Philadelphia Eagles; and by happy circumstance, is also a fellow Dead Head. :)
  • Winner 2 (Northfield Stag Drop Point Barlow) = Post #104; willgoy, who appears to be an avid soccer/football fan (either that, or he just enjoys coded messages). ;)
  • Winner 3 (Kabar Dog’s Head Trapper) = Post #110; Woodrow F Call, who is a fan of: the Mississippi State Bulldogs, several excellent bands (including one of my favorites - the Allman Brothers Band), Western novels; and wears a size 11 wide shoe (useful to know I suppose, much the same as now knowing my wife’s aversion to odd numbers). Woodrow also happens to have one of the coolest usernames on this or any website. :thumbup:

Congratulations to the winners. Three members who are very active here in this sub-forum and I couldn't be happier for them.

Thank you again for the chance and the incredibly generous give away Stephen. Gents like you and the winners are what make this place so cool.

Just finished dinner, my daughters been on a vegan kick with her boyfriend and today she gave me a break, just pasta and gravy and I thought I check in, when in saw Stephen posted winners chosen :) so I fight I'd see who the lucky winners were.

Now visualize this, my wife and I were sitting in the living room and she was telling me about a phone call she got from my mother in CO, I'm sorry to admit I was half listening while she was talking and I was checking this thread out when in the middle of her story I threw my arms in the air and yelled "YES".

Needless to say I had a little explaining to do, I tried but I was preoccupied with reading the rest of this thread, I kept telling her to finish the story but she knew I couldn't focus. She said, "go talk to your knife friends, your cousin's cooking out from Hungary to see your mom, she's pissed at her boyfriend, your brother hasn't called her in a month she's fine now go..."

So I guess all is good on the home front I'm gonna go make my wife a cup of tea and listen to her story but first I wanna say....

Yea, this is so very cool, I now have my third congress, I have a collection, I have an old Queen Half Congress, the recent GEC Forum Congress Jack and now a Full Congress and in stag.

Thank you so much for the generous giveaway and I'll give the knife a good home, I'll take it out and play with it often, it'll be a constant companion for the foreseeable future. Also other than SAKs and scout knives, this'll be my first 4 bladed knife.

This will make this extra special to me, thank you again Stephen and congrats to willgoy and Woodrow F Call for getting the other knives.

I love this place and mostly the great people I've met and the friends that I've made.

Now off to make some tea for the wife and try to regain the rest of the night. :)

I was going to make a joke about being doomed from the start because I am odd, but it turns out I was even in this case!
