On top of blankets/sleeping bags, keep one or two space blankets, or other lightweight blankets, and some duct tape(should be a given anyways

), to tape up and cover the windows if you need to take shelter in your vehicle. Windows will suck the heat right out of the car, so putting some insulation over them will help to keep the car warm. With space blankets, the heat from a lit candle will be reflected back throughout the vehicle.
In my truck I've got:
Emergency roadside kit(store bought type, given to me as a gift when I got my first car) that contains jumper cables, reflective triangle, small compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter, small FAK, cheapy poncho, cheapy space blanket, accident report kit, etc.
Tow strap. 30ft, with hooks.
Bag of ice melter.
Case of water.
Sleeping bag.(Need more of this or blankets, I know)
Bigger FAK
Second set of jumpers(found em in the truck after I bought it from the previous owner)
LED flashlight
There might be more, I can't remember. I need to toss in a box of granola bars, some candles, get a decent shovel, another sleeping bag or a couple of blankets. Also a bag with some general bug out stuff(tarp, firestarting stuff) that I could throw a sleeping bag and a couple of bottles of water in if I needed to hike out from my car. A bonus to my 4runner is that the back seats fold flat, so, if I needed to stay in my car I could fold em down and have plenty of space to sleep or lay down. Would also be prime space for snuggling if I was stuck with a lady, you know, to conserve(and create) body heat
