Hi,

Thought I'd post some pics of a hike my wife and I went on yesterday in an interesting area in Manitoba that is a small pocket of sand dunes. Still gets as cold as the rest of the prairies in the winter. Thought the photos might be interesting for those in different climates :)

Here's a row of trees on the drive out to the hike; these are a wind-break for a farmer's field. There was a fair amount of hoar-frost in the AM:

Here is a view of the snow-covered dunes:

These are likely rabbit tracks:

My new Daniel Winkler knife; damascus blade, sheep horn scales, full tapered tang:

Found some nice resin-rich fat wood in a stump of a pine tree blown down by wind:

And lastly, some seeds (I believe)... I'll have to look these up to see what they are :)

I really like that Winkler! How do you like the shape of that handle?

Looks great. I've been there before in the summer! The last shot is bitersweet. Thanks for posting!

Awesome pictures, love the perspectives in the trees and the tracks. They look like rabbit tracks to me. Really like the looks of tha knife, sweet blade!

Great pics. That Winkler looks amazing, particularly with the rough-forged finish on the flats. I'm a big fan of the rustic look.

Thanks for sharing,

- Mike

Would it too much if i second the opinion of GREAT pics. The first one is great but the rabbit tracks pic is AWSOME. I like how the tracks just go away give the prespective of wilderness.. Oh yea the knife is nice too lol...
