Winter vacation pics - Riding Mountain Park, Manitoba

awesome pics! i went for a hike today and most parts still had knee deep snow. i checked out some snow shoes and holy moly, $200+! i think i'll wait for the sun to melt more of the snow before hiking again.

This is probably the third or fourth post so far this winter that really made me wish I had a pair. Haven't gotten out in months (shame on me, I know), and with the snow we're supposed to get tomorrow night, I imagine it'd be a fun hike through White Plains to the bars hahaha ;)

good thing they were too expensive for me since i'm the impulse buyer kind :o thinking about it, i doubt it'd be very useful in harriman/bear mountain anyway since most of the terrain is steep. with that said, i noticed wendy's...ahem...has these mini trays. i probably could snag a pair and make my own just for the heck of it to see how useful it is in our area. haha.

Hey Walkabout,

Your pictures are always fantastic! These are certainly no exception. I was going to say that I particularly like the sunset picture, but they are all excellent, so I'm not going to choose.

Going to have to dust my snowshoes off............. oh wait, we need snow first. Have maybe 1 inch on the ground. With the crampons on, the shoes probably wouldn't quite touch the snow. :(. If only our brothers in the American South would quit hogging it all.

Thanks very much Doc! :)

Update: Your sunset picture is now my current desktop picture.

We are currently being snowed upon, maybe 3" so far in my parking lot, so who knows? :D

Hey Doc.. I'll send you the ice we had this week? Not much snow for us but I'll be happy to send this slick stuff up to ya! :D Thankfully we did not have enough to bring down power lines this time.

OP Great pictures!!
