Here's my latest effort. Went more mechanized on this one ... broke down and got an angle grinder and a sander attachment for my drill. Just felt the need to get the rough pits and such off before doing some embellishment.

This is the 2010 frontier, I like the profile, light weight, and the width of the blade relative to the trailhawk. My favorite CS hawk so far.

I tapered the haft just a bit. Ground and filled off the edges around the head, and sanded the surfaces enough to better show whatever etching or engraving I cook up.

Now for the fancy work: pyrographed design on the haft, with pewter inlays, and some file and etching on the head.

Can't wait to see the completed project. The haft looks like a nice piece of hickory and should have good color when finished.

Thanks folks. Hawkhead yes, this stick is real nice, best I've seen, and I didnt have to do much to get a nice friction fit.
