Yep, that is going to be one awesome piece. Have enjoyed watching this progress. Must be one hell of a bow, this will be one hell of a knife.

Lookin' good Erik & Joe!

It will be on display at the DISKIN USA Booth

nice. very nice.
you are giving us a great treat by showing how things look at all of these steps. However, there aren't any pics of the tools being used. I am a tool junky, too.

So... when you did the final convexing of the edge, did you do that with a slack belt on the sander, or did you use some other method? I know there are a whole lot of ways to do this, and I just wanted to know which one you used. Please.

Similarly, the handle shaping, did you use the belt grinder for most of it, or rasps and files? Probably, I can guess most of it was done with contact wheels, and a disk sander, but I am guessing. I just want to know, because I love to see how other people go about accomplishing these tasks.

the knife is outstanding. I think it is excellent. Thanks

Kevin, the convex is done on a slack belt.
I do the contour of the handle on the platen sculpt the rest on a split, serated slack belt.

I really enjoyed the WIP on this one. Joe you did well on the trade and Erik you did real good making the knife. Awesome piece and I would like to bet a great user.

Congrats to both of you! I love Erik's work, been following him for a while on a few different fronts of similar interests... Look forward to getting a chance to see this in person at Blade Joe!

I've been wanting a knife in that style since I saw the Lurquin's similar to that one. That is awesome.
