Could someone please enlighten me...What is the tang frame and why?
What is, this type of tang frame, designed to do? I didn't know full tang knifes were built like this.

To answer your question it was a way for me to do the guard over a stick tang and still retain a full frame look. To the best of my knowledge I know of no structural benefit, it was just a fun way to do something different. I actually just did another 13" bowie that the frame tang would have worked out beautifully on but I designed it and had it cut at the waterjet place prior to thinking about it. I have another blank that I may convert to this style though...hmmmm
