This is the final batch before Blade Show Batch! It will complete the 1st Woodsman Run. It also contains 4 more Bushcrafters, and one Hunter. I promised handle material and WIP pics, and here they are:

This pic shows the handle material for the rest of the Woodsman run. They are from L to R: Osage and Rosewood, Rosewood and curly Maple x2, and Lacewood and curly Maple.

This pic shows the blades all ready for handles. The hand sanding has been done. You can also see some curly Maple and Rosewood laminations, and a curly Koa and Rosewood lamination.

In this terrible pic I'm holding up a red linen micarta laminated with black g-10. Its going on one of the Bushcrafters and is for a special purpose/ won't be available.

Here is a pic of the Bubinga board I bought last week. Look at that curl!!! This was expensive, and will add $15 to the cost of a knife.

The two BIG ASS CHOPPERS are ready for handles now too. Neither will be sold. They warped a little on me in heat treat. We may do a one or two person passaround with one of them to see what people think of the functionability of the design. They'll get laminated micarta and g-10. I've already laminated nautral canvas and black g-10 and red linen and black g-10 for them.

Wow Andy. That Bubinga is gorgeous. Definitely would be worth an extra $15 in my opinion. A passaround on the BACs is a great idea. With the warpage, you might as well get some use/function out of them. Are the tip configurations different on those or is it an optical elusion? The bottom one appears to have a more pronounced drop. Personally, I'd prefer the style of the top one.

They'll be totaly usable, just not good enough to sell. May make a Seax out of one of them and sell that. WHo knows?

They do have very different tip configurations. I'm excited to see which one performs better. I estimate that the bottom one will out chop the top one, but we'll see. Its by far the worst warped, so it may get seaxed.

Those are looking great Andy. So what kind of wood will my Bushcrafter have on it.:D

I dunno. I've got Curly Maple/Rosewood there, and Goncalo/Osage, and Purpleheart and Osage. What would you like to see?

I like the Goncalo/Osage combo alot. Whatever you got works though. All your combos look great.

That will be an interesting comparison. I can't tell for sure, but it almost appears that the grinds might be different as well (flat on top and full convex on the bottom). Its probably just the lighting/reflection on the bottom one showing the convex, but not showing on the top one. What is the thickness on these?

JC you are right that Purpleheart/Osage combo looks great. Nice little knife you got.

They're both full convex grinds on 5/32" thick 01 steel. Any production of these would be 5160.

I have a ton of hard oak lying around from a mature tree we had to take down. I'd love to test one out on splitting and chopping that if it'd be of interest to you. Whatever it takes to get my paws on another Fiddleback, even if only for a few days.

Those looks awesome Andy, especially the big ol' choppers!! I'm sure they're beasts. (Oh, your CS went in the mail today.)

I'll have Andy send it on to you then.

Maybe Rio too. He liked that design.
