making my first set of scales for my spyderco tenacious...

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!!!!

supplies used:
1x set of scale blanks
torx bit precision screwdrivers,
12 pc needle file set
dremel tool with sanding bit
clamps to secure my work

i used two pieces of layered blue g10 and carbon fiber i got from usknifemaker.com sized: 1/8" x 1.5" x 5"

i glued the original scales to the pieces of g10 and drilled the holes.

once that was done i ataced the liners to the new material and used a dremel with a sanding bit to sand it to a rough outline.
then used some needle files to file them flush with the liners..
heres a picture of before and after hand filing.... rough outline on the left and hand filed one on the right

heres one all filed up.

Anyone have any suggestions on a multicolored g10 or a textured orange g10 that I should use to make scales for my crkt liftoff 2? I don't like the stock ones with the zytell with the heavy SS inlay.

Jake - love the custom Tenacious scales. What a difference!

Wondering where you got your torx drivers?
