As usually happens with quality makers, once I had the knife in hand, it was BETTER than expected.
I cannot add more drama/desire to Serge's fine images, but I can add my own brand of clarity.
It only looks rustic. The precision is readily apparent. Although the blade looks like it is resting against the flat of the frame, it is elevated about .010" across the entire face. Probably exactly the amount of spacer width he shimmed under the pivot. Zero play.
Opens and closes with consistent friction. Smooooth.
Serge tells me he includes this little trinket on his better pieces. Signed on one side, numbered on the other. He also provided a very professional origination card to hold for provenance.
Serge called me to follow up. Very professional, and VERY friendly. Thanks, man!
All-in-all a very worthy purchase, and I will submit Serge is a maker to continue watching.
Thanks a million!
