Wire Inlay

Tracy, your grooves are cut shallow? i have never tapped the wire into my grooves as they are cut deep enough the wire only needs a light steel burnish to take the wire level to the wood handle.

hehehehe...I forgot that you and I have had this same difference of opinion before, Dan! :) :D

For the record, Dan and I "talk" often. He favors a shallower cut and burnish and I favor deeper and tap. Your mileage will vary. He's certainly done more of the fine jewelry work and arts like that than I have.

yes, there are 2 standard widths of sterling bezel wire,1.5 and 2mm wide. i cut the grooves deep enough the 1.5mm will just slide into the groove ,light burnish to the top of the wire and little cleanup after the wood has been moistened and dried . first wood hafted inlay tool is finished and works much better than just the thin saw blade tool.

I asked Gene Osborn about Mr Eldridge last night and he said that he was retired..and didn't know whether he still made the kits available. He was going to check for me.
