wire stich

Something I tried and felt that some of you may like to try. Wire stiching your sheath. It is not for every sheath but I think it looks good and it seems to hold up well.

To start make your holes like you would for regular stiching. I like to drill my holes with my drill press this makes it faster and keeps the holes strait. Then I pull wire (craft wire 20 gauge looks best) through the top most hole leave enough wire on the front side of sheath to go length of stiched area plus
4" "We will call this wire A".
On the other side you will need 3 times the length of the stich "We will call this wire B". The wire on the front side does not go through any holes until you reach the end of the stich. The other side of the wire will go through each hole once.

Starting at the top push wire B on the back side of the sheath through the next hole down, to the front side of the sheath and then back through the next hole to the back side of the sheath. Before you pull the wire tite send wire A through the loop you created with wire B. Repeat. Make sure that wire A goes through wire B's loop the same direction every time.

I will provide pics of the process if any one wants to see more.

Definitely provide pictures of the process. I think I have it figured out in my head, but pictures would make me more sure of what you're describing. It's a really neat idea! Nice work.

I was just considering if this would work while making a bale from copper wire...I also would like to see pics of the process, please. Looks really good.
