so i just ordered my 2hp vfd and have been scanning over the manual before it comes to try and plan how i will get it set up... the problem is i dont have very much knowledge of electricity and dont yet have 220v in my shop. I was going to have my electrician wire me in 220, but what do i ask for? i plan to have 4 vfd's in total in the end, all kbac27d, though only one would run at any time, can i just have him wire a 20a 220v outlet, and me wire a male 20a plug to my vfd? or do you guys hard wire your vfd's branched off the outlet? i guess ill have him install a new breaker for the 220 in the shed where the grinders would be, so my second question is, when i am ready to expand, can i just turn off the breaker and run 3 other 20a outlets, branched from the first one that he runs(or hard line the new vfds at branched junction boxes [or whatever they're called])? Im hoping to get one outlet set up and do the othersmyself when the time comes, is this a problematic approach? What do you recommend?

I have six 220v machines but only three 220v outlets. Since only one thing runs at a time, I bought two 10ft 220v, three outlet extensions. This way everything stays plugged in. My oven gets its own plug as it draws the most. The 220v extensions are on Amazon for $20 per. Since the current draw of even my 2hp grinder is pretty low, overheating the cables isn't an issue. This is one of the reasons I like 220v vs 110v. Half the current at twice the potential.

The instructions are pretty clear on wiring the VFD and it should already be jumpered for 220v. If not, I'm sure someone can shoot you a picture as it's just three wires. Hot, return and ground.
