I don't know if I'm leaving in the morning or the afternoon tomorrow, but I'll be heading down to the hunt camp to remedy their pig problem as well as bag a deer if I'm lucky.
There is a wild pig down there that has shown up on the trail cams several times before. From the pictures, some of the resident "pig experts" have guessed its weight at approximately 700 lb. The two guys that own the property have tried to hunt it from tree stands with no luck. I went down there once a while back and stayed in a blind near a spinner it liked and no luck. This time, I'm doing it slightly differently. Before, no one wanted to ground hunt the pig. It would definitely be a seriously dangerous pig to come up on and have turn on you. They think I'm nuts, but this time I'm going to actively ground hunt the pig and travel between the areas that we know he frequents. I had a buddy of mine go down there and bait a couple of areas real well so hopefully it will make him a little more predictable. I'm taking my camera with me. If I manage to tag it, I'll post up some pictures when I get home on Monday.
As for camping and sleeping arrangements, I'm heading out of the camp shortly after parking the truck tomorrow with a minimum of gear and I won't be coming back to camp until Monday morning. Just me and woods. No tent, no sleeping bag, just the good old Georgia jungle.
Wish me luck guys!
