Hey fellas - wish me luck - I've got a team of guys and we are heading out to PA tomorrow for the toughmudder.

Check it out:
http://toughmudder.com/events/bear-creek/bear-creek-map/

It's 7 miles with 17 different obstacles. My goal is to be able to finish it. I'm 10 years older than the guys I'm going with but that doesn't really concern me. I'm hoping my back holds up. The distance and the obstacles by themselves don't really get me too nervous but, damn, the hills are going to kick my butt big time. I live in a flat state and don't get much of an opportunity to train on hills so this should be interesting. Also, there are only two watering stations so we've got to carry our own water.

This should be a blast!

Is anyone else doing it?

Looks like you have your work cut out for you myright. Best of luck to you, looks like fun:thumbup:

Thanks, brother. This is the first time in the US for this event so it should be a blast. I'm in the last group of 500 to start so everything is going to be pretty worn in by the time we get to it :)

I'll let you guys know what I feel like on Sunday night - But i'm guessing it'll be Teusday before I get really, really sore.

Good luck to you.

I'm doing one, but not until August, it's a scaled down version called the Warrior Dash. Same concept just shorter.

That looks like tons of fun. Good luck.
There's an adventure race kind of thing I'd like to do, but the running takes me out unless they have a chiropractor stationed every mile of the way.
It's just a few miles of trail running, an eight mile mountain bike course, rappelling, and seven miles of kayaking-not nearly as cool as that obstacle course.

Looks like a blast!
Good luck tomorrow.
(as a city dweller,I go up and down stairs for hill training)

Trying to get a team going for the Northern CA one next year. For some reason I seem to be surrounded by a bunch of pansies though. I'm not sure if it's the ULTIMATE outdoor event but it sure as hell would be fun! Always liked andventure races.

Friend of mine is doing the Southeast Warrior Dash in a few weeks. Waiting to hear how that goes.

I'm not sure it's the ULTIMATE event either but it sounded good :p

They sell out very quickly and I'm not sure what to expect as far as organization goes since it's the first one. I'm 32 and feel great all except my back but we'll see how it goes. I ain't skeered :D

I also plan on doing a Warrior Dash and some of the Mud Runs as long as I don't break anything tomorrow :(

bah just think young thoughts! the pain won't be as bad as it will be in the morning and hopefully you'll be so damned hung over that won't matter anyway :D I used to have access to a hot girl and a hydrotherapy chamber in the golden days, between an endorphin high, a massage and hydro jets there wasn't much I couldn't get over.

Thats badass. good for you bro.

I'm leaving my camera with my buddies wife. I'm hoping to get some really cool pics.

They've only got two water stations for the entire race so it's carry in and refill. I can't wait - i'm getting pre-race jitters already!!!

I'll be sure to share some pics when I'm able to lift my arms again :)
