Hello to the Busse folks. I do not own nor have I ever even held a Busse knife. I am an LEO and were a Tac Vest when in the field. I am looking for something to buy down the road sometime when I have the funding, a rather small fixed blade knife that I can attach to my vest. I want something that I can stake my life on. Something that I can grab and smash a window with the butt end if needed, or god forbid I need to use as a last resort for self defense. Something basically that is not going to break on me, or won't rust if I get caught in the rain and forget to wipe it down. Ideally it would have a 3" drop point or spear point blade, and the handle would be something on the OD green color scheme with a sheath to match. I would like it to not draw attention to itself while on my OD green vest.

I am just looking for some suggestions so I can have a more or less idea and price point to work toward.

Thank you all!

^ what this guy said. Maybe black blade with green and black g10 handle and a kydex..pretty sure some of the sheath makers on these forums offer green kydex.

I'll add a few more options...
Swamprat - Rodent Solution, Rodent 3. If funds are very tight, Scrapyard - 311 or 411 if you can go a little larger.

Thing is you won't know what's orderable from Busse until you're ready.
Knives go on and off the Busse & Kin sites and you may have to hunt for what you want on the Exchange.

If you're in the secondary market A Busse Active Duty, Game Warden, or if you can go 4" a Boss Street, or Leaner Meaner.
I personally love the Leaner Meaner!

Good luck and thanks for keeping us all safe!!! :)

I would agree with the Anniversary Mean Street suggestion. Small enough to not get in the way, large enough to handle most knife tasks and tough enough to do it all over again the next time.

AMS is the way to go. Make sure to check out some of our professional Kydex benders for a quality sheath.

Thank you all. Lots of great suggestions here. I really like the look of the AMS, but the price of the Scrapyard got my attention. Arghh... tough decision to make. I will most likely try to go for the AMS. Now just got to raise the money :(

Thank you for all the help

A little bit of care for your SR101 blades will keep it from rusting. I have a SYKCO 411 that has been on my hunting pack for last year's season and there hasn't been any sort of rust on it(3 weeks straight in the bush). However, I do wipe it down every now and then with a Tuff Cloth. The rubbery Res-C mudder handles are awesome

AMS with black micarta and an OD buybrown sheath?

however - would be nice to see a photo on the vest :D if it isnt against regulations!
