Hey guys, with mentor's recent kit pic's, it got me thinking I would love to see what every one is setup with now, you all know you love looking at PSK and knife pics.:D:thumbup:

Heres what I've got going. This is my PSK, it, paired with my RC6, tk-10 and MAX dump pouch are what I like to have with me as a bare bones kit. I can either be warn on the belt, or with the Baltric I have rigged up, but the light and dump pouch are allways on the belt.

Everything together,

What I carry as an everyday kit is simple , a small folder , a cigarette lighter , and a mini bottle of detol hand sanitiser .

When I go to town I watch people , what worries me is seeing them cough and sneeze , and politely covering their mouths with their hands , then they shake hands with their mates , or open doors or drag their gammies up handrails and stuff ... hand sanitiser seems to make sense to me , even if it does make me feel like an oddball using it

Here's my Deployment Survival Kit:

It will be integrated with my EDC including my IOTV which will have a full sized IFAK and other items which I will list.

The sole purpose of this kit is to keep me functioning until rescue…even the compact fishing kit is a far stretch as I don’t expect to E&E more than 48-72 hours before I’m either picked up or captured.

Given the AO, water is my primary concern. I do have a Camelback and water bottles/canteens in my assault pack, but this compact E&E kit will at least give me the possibility to carry and purify 6 quarts of water…again, about 2-3 days.

My EDC consists of:

M9/M4
Rigger’s Belt with:
Mad Dog PATAK fixed blade (soon to be a Dumpster Mutt)
Leatherman Multi-tool
Novatac 120 Mil LED light
Small PSK/IFAK (nothing too big, fits in the lower left leg pocket)
Extra two-mag M9 pouch
Marathon GSAR watch
Cammenga Tritium wrist compass
ACH or Boonie hat (with two large brass safety pins)
ID Card/cash holder
Oakley Half-Jacket Ballistic glasses – polarized lenses
Gloves (SWMS/Camelback – Vent Gloves)
Emerson CQC-8 folder
Spyderco Military folder
100mph/duct tape
ID Tags
2x550-cord – 6 foot/braided
Lighter
Chapstick (Burt’s Bees – combat tested and approved)
Extra, Clear Oakley Half-Jacket lenses
Small PSK Kit
In the Shirt:
2xMechanical Pencils
Fisher Pen, black
Grease Pen, black
Gum
Small Notebook
Casualty feeder card
IR Flag

IOTV (with plates):
Camelback 3-Liter
M9 Magazines (3)
M4 Magazines (6)
Map (area dependent)
Lensatic Tritium Compass
Emergency Strobe
Seat Belt Cutter
SAK – Outrider (mini fire steel/Sliver Grippers)
Tactical LED (Gladius with LED upgrade)
Compact weapons cleaning kit
Sun Screen (small tin)
Hand Sanitizer
Compact binoculars
Small notebook
Mechanical Pencils
Pens
Grease pens
Lens cleaner
550 cord (about 30 feet)
IFAK (small boo-boo one)
Gloves
Carabiners
Aqua Mira personal water filter with 1qt Platypus bottle
Cravat
Recon Warp

Well given all the crap above when outside the wire, I was trying to get a nice compact PSK together and assembled this:

Built around the ICE Tactical, Belt Mounted IFAK pouch (which is removable if needed): http://www.icetactical.com/pouch-ifak-detach.html

Here it is with a SAK Outrider for size comparison:

This is my EDC bag which rides with me in my CAR.
Some of the items don't make sense unless you understand this isn't a pure wilderness kit.

The bag I got at an ArmyNavy store. It has a shoulder strap, and a waist strap to keep is in place.

Outside is a grimlock, water bottle holder, thermometer and a CountyComm LED, Bruton ball compass

The main bag is full with everything in it. The Maxped Moire provides additional storage ability if required.

I don't really have a PSK. I have a 3 bag set that makes up my BOB. I need to put a small one together for sure. The only Knife in my BOB is a Mora 510. However I always have a SAK and a folder with a pocket clip on me as well.

my little PSK rides Backside...

Hey Brother, if you mean you have that Otter/Pelican box in the small of your back, you might want to move it over a little bit. If you fell the wrong way, that thing could paralyze you, it would be like falling with a brick on your spine.

well your correct,I meant off to my Right side of the small of my back... it was just easy to say back side ,LOL :D

I'm just looking out for the important things in your life like hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, running around with your kids and humping your wife, you don't want any of them things to go away. :D

Kit Evolution

I'll have to wait until the end of August because I have a couple minor things coming for my birthday at the end of the month from me Brother for inclusion in the kit(s) I have. I'm fairly certain I asked him to snag me a couple of extra large steel (industrial-sized) sewing machine bobbins but oddly I have not received them which means I might be getting them for my birfday.

I have a couple of old Radio Shack "personal alarms" I am going to tweak into trail alarms because that and door duty in a hotel/motel is about all they are good for - and for those tasks - excellent! :D

Don't have time to list the contents now, and I don't have pics of the contents, but I will update this post with them later. I carry these in my pockets:

IMG_4814.jpg

Two smaller aloksaks with tins go in cargo pockets. The larger aloksak goes in a back pocket (I might break it down into the smaller aloksak like the others. I carry a Aqua Liter 1 liter pouch in there and I don't want to have to fold it against the opening zip seal to make it fit in one of the smaller aloksaks. I might try one out just to see if it affects the pouch too much).

The smaller keyring with whistle goes in my right pocket, and the keyring with the W&SS necker clips onto a belt loop and goes in my left pocket.

Everything is reasonably easy to manipulate, open, or remove with cold fingers. Not the easiest in the world, but that's where my compromise fell.

ETA: On the belt, I've got my NWA Sierra Scout, BRKT Gunny, or BRKT Bravo-1 and Vic SwissTool Spirit.

Okay, here is my set up. A lot of this is my regular gear with PSK contents so there is redundancy especially with fire (I'm kind of fire crazy).

Package is contained in (Don turn your head) a maxpedition falcon II. This bag is superbly versatile for me. I can throw in my laptop in the main compartment or on field trips pull that out and put in my cloths + rain gear.

I have this emergency LED and whistle layered into the side. These are designed to attach to you PDF, I have spares of these, including one on my inflatable PDF, but this one is handy to access. The LED can be run continuous or in flash mode for signalling and longer battery life.

I'm still waiting for my maxpedition bottle holder which will hold my 1L Nalgene and GI cup. For now it goes into the main compartment.

First compartment is my commonly accessed goodies:

DSC_0068-9.jpg

Here it is laid out:

DSC_0069-13.jpg

GPS, Silva compass, electrical tape, clothesline (cotton - can be used to make char cloth or for tying), nylon twine wrapped around eyeglass cleaner pads, trailmaster SAK (Thanks Fonly), Leatherman Juice, sharpie, pen, hand sanitizer. I need to add pencil and write in the rain pad. My Post doc grapped that when they forget their field book last week. Also need bug juice to be replaced - went AWOL.

Secondary compartment.

DSC_0071-8.jpg

Two lock'n'lock containers fit in here just perfectly. They are water proof, pretty tough and keep things organized.

Also loose in there, work gloves, paracord, heat sheet (large), firewallet, and I totally forgot about it but a doan stick was stuck in a pocket.

First kit was primarily a FAK, but its contents have been reduced as my boat has a full kit on board. I did notice as part of this exercise that I have drugs to replace in there though. What used to be just first aid has migrated to a more general overflow....

DSC_0072-12.jpg

A couple of ceramic sharpening rods, wire ties, more of that nylon twine, cut bike tube to make ranger bands, scissors, alcohol pads, triangle bandage, nitrile gloves, storm matches (in tinfoil), polysporin, lip balm (its vaseline), mini bic, bandages (different sizes), mole skin, steri strips, guaze pads, surgeon tape, jewler tweezers, little doan stick, piece of fatwood, jute twine, extra fine steel wool, piece of flint, piece of hacksaw, Magnussen Strife knife (Striker for flint & steel), tin of PJCB, tin of charcloth, fresnel lens/little signal mirror.

Next tub:

DSC_0074-4.jpg

Wade scandi necker, coglans survival whistle (button compass, whistle, fresnel lens), heat sheet (small), toillett paper, water tablets, snare wire, mini bic, REI storm matches with fishing hooks (worm hooks), long burning tea candle, jute twine, cogland firesticks, lip balm (vaseline), stick wrapped with 15lb monofilament (stick can also be burned), neat sentimental rock that throws sparks off steel like nobodies business, firesteel, firesteel striker, lazer point/LED light (rectangular case), trail marker tape, hot chocolate pack, oatmeal pack, soup base pack.

The two tubs...

DSC_0075-6.jpg

Thats about it.....I just noticed that my mag light LED light has gone a wall from the bag from my last camping kit so that needs improving. I used to have a tension ban aid in the FAK tub that could go back in there. Spare batteries (GPS & maglight) are kept in the top admin compartment. I need more antihistamine tablets, some advil or pain meds, zantak and gravol. I need to add back in note pad, pencil and bug juice.

Bro,

I wasn't banging on Maxpedition and Spec-Ops stuff at all. I have several pieces of Spec-Ops stuff and a lot of Maxped as well. I love all of it and they are very valuable to me, gear-wise.

I guess it sort of sounded flippant, what I said. All I meant to say was, it is nice to see someone step outside of the box of what has developed into the conventional gear wisdom around here, as well as the RAT Forum. I didn't even know Mountain Equipment Co-op existed! It's always nice to see some other company making bags suitable for banging around outdoors, wilderness, rural or urban.

As a further note, you might not believe how close our gear is as far as what you have shown in this thread. I'm serious, when I purchased my Garmin E-Trex, I chose the yellow one because it is high-visibility along with a bunch of other stuff I have like the Benchmade/Ritter Mini-RSK in yellow, FOX-40 Micro Whistles in yellow and other high-vis stuff like orange Spark-Lites, etc.

There are just a few minor things between your stuff and mine as it stands right now, it's pretty cool that everyone can be involved in this sort of thing and read each other's stuff for months on end and end up with stuff so incredibly similar. Yet, have the personal touch differences. The E-Trex coloration difference. I had a Brunton baseplate compass that I replaced with a pre-1992 Silva M3, I have a Leatherman Wave and you appear to have a Surge or Juice or something. I think that is a SAK Hunter which is what I have regardless... :D
