With the Sage 3 getting the axe will we see an S5 or is the series dying off?

So the new S5 will have a complex lock? Hmmm.... Wonder what it could be???
Well, considering this, from the latest Spyderco Byte email...

What does the future hold for the Sage Series? Well, in addition to continuing to recognize the contributions of other designers, based on popular demand we plan to showcase our own lock innovations, including our patented Compression Lock and Ball Bearing Lock. These locks have definitely stood the test of time and earned their rightful place alongside the other notable mechanisms in the series.

...perhaps it's the Meerkat's Phantom Lock. :D

I am very excited about the Sage5 being in the works as well as the new Sage3 and it's CF handle. Is there an ETA on the new Sage3 CF ?

Also , how awesome is it that Sal Glesser himself participates in the forums? I think it's outstanding. Like I said before , it's like we're all sitting around talking about lightsabers and all of a sudden Yoda chimes in. Awesome indeed.

I think the Paul would be a good idea, but I think that Benchmade has rights to the lock since they purchased Lone Wolf.

And, sadly (I guess), promptly put it into hibernation (or worse). I had a few. They were very cool, but very finicky. I don't think it's surprising that Paul sold the company, nor that Benchmade discontinued the lock. (Thinking: I wonder if the patents are still in effect? - it's possible they've expired...)

Tooling up to produce that lock would probably cost a fortune. :(

A Sage with a Button Lock would be nice. Love it on the William Henry folders.
