With your experience and knowing what you do today

I don't really have a preference in fixed-blades...I really don't see the need for one while camping/hiking.

But for a folder it would be a Buck Custom Shop 110...like this one! :D

The first knife I ever bought at age 12 was a SAK Huntsman. I still have it, and it would not be a bad choice if I did it over a second time. However, If there had been multitools back then, A Vic Spirit or Leatherman Wave (old style) would be the pick.

For a fixed blade, My first was a USAF pilot's knife. Built like a rock, and about as sharp. Nowadays, I'd go with a Bark River Northstar or similar. In fact, I'm trying hard not to buy one now!

They're both very strong and well designed for what I want them to do.

:D:D That's an easy one for me!:D:D

:)Benchmade 710 D2 folder for EDC:)

:)Bark River Northstar for fixed.:)

If I had known better I would have bought the Spyderco Lil’ Temperance. That knife has most of the features I appreciate in a EDC folder. It has a good thick handle with no finger groove, the blade edge starts immediately after the handle stops and the finger guard isn’t too wide.

For the fixed blade, I would have got a nice nine (or ten) inch bush knife right off the bat. Either a Busse or Fehrman, or any other reputable maker that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg.

E.D.C. = Chris Reeve Small Sebenza serrated it's just what it is....

some days my E.D.C. changes depending on the situation..(work,play,dress) so I'm glad to have a big selection to choose from.

Fixed = Ontario RAT 3 good steel, small, light, simple.
