I have a nearly new SNG CC RG Tiger Stripe that I recently acquired in a trade from a well regarded BF member. It was clearly advertised as new to him but it came to him with lock rock right out of the baggie - never cut anything but paper.
When I received it, everything on the knife did look new and unused. I did note however, a small scratch on the pivot bolt but apart from that, the knife is obviously unused.
I boxed it up and shipped it to Strider immediately upon receiving the knive and got it back on January 7 from Strider 100% repaired and solid as a rock.
The repair involved installing a new stop pin/thumbstud with a larger diameter on the Ti side of the blade, perfectly matched to the tiger stripe blade base color. Then they re-fitted the lock bar and by doing that, they polished the flamed Ti slab notch where the stop pin makes contact on the Ti slab until the lockbar contact was perfect so where the thumbstud sits in the Ti slab notch when the knife is opened, there is a small polished section but is just where the stop pin makes contact.
The knife functions flawlessly now, lock up is 100% solid, no vertical or side to side play and the blade is centered when closed. Action is superb too. Lockup is early but not too early. 25% maybe.
So what we have here is an unused Strider CC in Ranger Green with a Tiger Striped blade in S30V (no steel marking on blade at least), straight from Strider Service and functioning extremely well.
What I'm looking for out of this trade is primarily a Les George VECP in new or like new condition. If that doesn't pan out, I'd like to consider another new or like new SNG in either a DGG or Lego configuration with a stonewashed blade or black oxide blade. FFG or 3/4 is fine. Ti slab can be flamed or stone washed. I would also consider a new or like new CRK Umnumzaan in S30V only. I'd would also trade into a new or like new SMF Lego with SW or black oxide blade, FFG or 3/4 grind.
All with no issues please as this SNG is really nice right now. She works perfectly. Mainly, I want to try something without the Tiger Striped blade finish.
