Started as a small, unbranded utility hatchet head. The head: re-profiled to lose weight, smoothed all corners, wire brushed and light Birchwood-Casey gun-blue etch....the handle: hand-profiled a nice old hickory axe cut-off, sanded and coated with 'Tried & True' original....maple wedge. Overall length is 20"...it's light enough to wield with one hand, when choked up...but long enough to go with two hands for a little extra torque...handle has the axe ovid shape so it indexes nicely...nice spare for the trunk or under seat.
