- I AM WITHDRAWING THIS TRADE -
I've got a beautiful Backwoods custom knife by Bill Akers for trade. Don't think for a minute that I don't love Bill's work: this one just isn't quite for me. I'll get me the right Akers someday but I'll have to spec it out to the gnat's ass in order to appease my OCD.
Original sale thread with great photos here.
As anyone who knows Bill's work knows, the fit and finish on this is perfection. The ash is beatiful and warm with slight yellow overtones and some neat inclusions. The sheath is really nice: stiff, with a finished interior. I've only used it once, for some whittling and to clean a single fish (usage photos here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...t-outdoor-time-with-my-Backwoods-Custom-knife). The blade has some light markings on it from its one outing.
Details:
"SWEEPING BEAUTY"
MAKER:BILL AKERS
STYLE: UPSWEEP
STEEL: ALDOS / 1095
FINNISH: WHEEL FINISH
SCALES: EXTREME STABILIZED SPALTED BLACK ASH BURL
HARDWARE: MOSAIC PINS/LANYARD TUBE
MEASURMENTS: 7 1/4" OVERALL / 3 3/8" BLADE ,
EXTRAS:LEATHER BEADED LANYARD/FILEWORK
SHEATH: TOOLED LEATHER W/BELT LOOP <RH> CARRY
Looking to trade for whatever combination (trading a custom for user factory knives so I figure several knives in trade for this one) of the following you've got:
KA-BAR - Small Heavy Bowie, Kuhkuri, Grass Machete, Camp Knife (recurved one), Mule folder (no serrations)
Becker (KA-BAR era only please) - BK 3, 5, 7, 9, 14
I'm totally okay with users; the finish is largely irrelevant as long as the steel itself isn't damaged.
