Not entirely sure what you mean, since I bought the first one I had from Ryan Wilson in 2004, so in that regard there wasn't a Combat Elite pre-Wilson. On the other hand, in 2010, when I got this one, the company email address was "...@wilsoncombat.com", so maybe that is what you refer to. The handle is indistinguishable from that of the 2004 version, and the blade has the same grind that was in use by mid-2006, unlike the ones for sale now.
