Edges on main blade and awl / reamer are sharp and appear to be factory. Has some black tarnish (not pitted) spots that could be polished out with white toothpaste and Meguiars if thats your thing but I prefer to just let these old carbon steel knives mellow with time. All metal finishes appear 100% original. Been stored with a light coat of oil. Good snaps on all blades, a tad light compared to todays thumb busters but firm and reliable
