Guys and gals - it seems obvious to me that the issue with the liner is a bigger deal to people than I expected (and I think thats understandable). I'm going to close this thread down and send the knife to Spyderco to get repaired under their warranty. I'll relist this when I get the knife back. Thanks
Hey guys,
I've got a LNIB Spyderco Smallfly for sale. This is the sprint run in foliage green G10. Very nice knife, examined and photographed for a review - I'm not a flipper so I didn't mess with this one, more of just a curiosity. I gently flipped it open and closed a couple times - no serious flipping, never been dropped, looks brand new, etc etc.
After owning the knife for a few weeks I noticed what appears to be a small manufacturing defect on one of the liners. I'm not sure if these were cast but it looks like it's a crack in the liner (it's not an actual crack and doesn't go all the way through - not sure what it is really, maybe an error in casting). This doesn't affect the functionality of the knife at all, or the value imo - it simply came like this from the Spyderco shop.
However, I am a firm believer in full and fair disclosure so I want to mention anything I notice and make sure you, the potential buyer, will be 100% satisfied with any knife you purchase from me. I've attempted to photograph the liner below.
I'm asking $145 REDUCED - $130 shipped to your door with all paypal fees and insurance included.
As for trades I'm looking for higher end stuff - Spyderco, Benchmade, Emerson, ZT, etc. I would like a Para 2 at some point, of course that would have to be a partial trade. Feel free to make an offer and ask me any questions. Thanks so much!
From this angle it looks like it goes all the way through the liner - trust me, it does not. You could probably get Spyderco to fix this if it was really an issue.
