just to be clear, I have no immediate plans to start making these but I may offer a very small number of these folders in the future.

Being a huge fan of the original first edition Tomcat (and of Farids for that matter), I like this one a great deal.

That blade shape!!!

I love the shape of the blades and the frame . But for me they dont seam to sit together well imo Sorry . Ps the fit and finish of it looks grate

Not one I'd buy either--something really clashes for me...that frame flair then suddenly blade half the width of that flair...but I'm sure they're good knives. Good luck with them.

Yes, the frame flare is quite pronounced. But bear in mind, that this is a prototype and Farid knows what he is doing most of the time ;-)

Also this design harks back a long way to the first 'Tomcat' and over other bigger SOG knives. Take a gander and check out how they work. Especially the first model/original Tomcat.
Of course, if you dont like that, you wont like the 'Team Leader.'

Not sure how I feel about the flaring at the top of the grip, but the blade is gorgeous. Looks like it'd fill a number of military roles quite well!

Thank you I appreciate the support.
I truly believe the Team Leader was the core foundation and the DNA of what became the Tomcat. When you look at both folders you can clearly see they both have similar DNA's, the spirit of SOG is unmistakable and can not be compared to any other knives out there, it is unique.

I wouldn't make them so sharp on the flare ends near the blade and definitely put a thumb disk or the like on them. Thicker spine too so they maintain the integrity and strength near the pivot. Just thoughts but if SOG ever came out with them, which I could probably afford(!) I would hope they would pick a steel that is decent by todays standards. A high carbon tool stool would be perfect imho. keepem sharp and excellent job

Thanks for the thoughts, I kept the blade thickness at 0.220 thick, a thumb stud is possible but I would have to change the top grind line a little.

D3 is most definitely high carbon and a tool steel as well. Farid, the "team Leader" name was used on a fixed blade about 2 years back that was released in 20CV, as well as a less expensive Aus 8 version. The blade style and shape was different from yours.

That finish has a nice look to it. Nice knives.
