I have a ka-bar with stag scales that I wouldn't mind getting some new scales for since the stag is broken in a couple of places.

I was given the knife from a friend of my mother and I think it belonged to that woman's father or grandfather. Rather than just having something to store away, I would rather make it useful again.

I was thinking of having the stag replaced with wood. Maybe a burled ironwood?

Does anyone know of a place that does that kind of work or is anyone interested in taking on a project?

I am located in southeast TX, but I am willing to ship it anywhere.

If the knife looks like the one pictured, that sounds like a great project. Keep us informed and pics are always appreciated. Rather than Micarta, get ironwood or bocote.

Project dropped off for a couple year… Now I’m interested again. I’m open to various handle materials.

please shoot me a message if are open to discussing the project.
