WITHDRAWN...THANKS FOR LOOKING

Ramon Chaves Redencion 228 midtech - first run, version 2

I got this directly from Ramon, on pre order (about 1.5 -2 years ago) and waited 4 months to have this made and delivered. I am original owner.

Putting this beauty up for sale since it’s more of a safe queen for me and there are other knives I like to explore and try out. And since I got my CRK Mnandi I haven’t really looked back to my overbuilt folders.

I only used this knife a handful of times for fairly light tasks so it’s in excellent condition. I did play and flick it quite a bit when I first got it but hardly carried it due to finding it quite heavy and bulky for EDC.

I won’t go into details and specs other than this is version 1 (2nd run) midtech model Redencion 228

with:

-S35VN steel with compound grind main being hollow grind.
-Blade length I believe is 3.25"
-Titanium handle and framelock that locks right at about 55%. The handle just molds to the hand and the knife is very comfortable to hold.
-Titanium skull clip (stock)
-Blue Anodized skull clip (custom)
-Caged bearing pivot - super smooth operation.
-Strong detent - the blade flings out like rocket with authoritative locking sound.

Locks up like a vault with zero play in any direction, perfectly centered and impeccably finished. Fit and finish is amazing on this knife. I am inclined to say its actually better than my CRK Insingo.

Full Disclosure:

  1. There is a tiny chip/dent on the top part of the blade near the tip, I am not sure how this happened, I never dropped the knife, never chopped anything with it, only used for light tasks but it’s there. See pics.

  2. There are some light surface scratches on the blade near tip area (only seen at the right angle and lighting, hard to capture) – a result from me trying to touch up the edge (curve) near the tip and make it sharper as it was not sharp at all right from day one. The rest of the edge was carefully touched up but could be sharper.

  3. Originally when I got the knife, the pivot kept loosening on its own, every few days from me playing with the knife ad flicking it open. After contacting Ramon himself, I used his advice and applied blue locktite to the pivot (this is what they recommended to do). I already knew about this as I used this method on some of my other knives before with great success. Ever since then, there has been no issues at all.
There are no mechanical or aesthetic issues with this knife to my knowledge other than what I listed above.

Pictures were taken a week ago. The knife is in same condition. I can provide more detailed pictures with close ups and different angles upon request and send to you email or phone.

There is no box, pouch or papers as the knife came without them, only in a plastic bublewrap and a cardboard box. I will include a benchmade pouch (is how I’ve been storing it) with this knife.

I am not looking to make money on this and I am not a charity either, I am passing the opportunity to other fellow Canadians to own this great midtech at a descent discount and no worries about taxes, duties, or custom seizures.

Knife cost me $475 US, + custom blue anodized skull clip another $125 US totaling $600US which is roughly $800 CAD (not including shipping and fees)

WITHDRAWN.

***If you don't want the blue anodized custom clip, I can reduce the price by $100 and sell it separate***

(A black paracord lanyard with metal scull bead will be included as a bonus. Will add picture later.)

I will consider trades for mint CRK Mnandi (other than ebony inlays), or a Hinderer 3” Wharncliffe or fatty. +/- cash depending on model

Tapatalk is not updating bladeforums on my phone for some reason (technical issue I think), so I may not be able to respond quickly if I am away from my computer. For quickest way to contact me please email to: anlev01 at hotmail dot com or text: 519 980 6690

This knife is listed elsewhere, so I will not "hold" it for any reason. Timestamp will apply - First come First serve.

Thanks for looking

How do you distinguish the 2nd drop from the 1st drop being that you have a sterile blade? Good price btw
