PICS
SPECS
The Future is a Tashi Bharucha design and the very first integral folder from Reate Knives. It is a gentleman's style tactical flipper and includes some new features and manufacturing techniques never before seen on a Reate knife. It's slender yet large, beautiful yet tactical, and truly shows the best of the best that Reate brings to the table.
The 3.75" straight back blade is made from M390 super steel with a tactical black finish and a very compact flipper tab. The handle is a wonderful ergonomic shape, made from 6AL4V titanium with chamfered edges for comfort and marbled carbon fiber inlays around the pivot. It is milled from a single piece of titanium to give you ultimate strength in such a slim profile. The easily accessible frame lock features a replaceable steel lockbar insert with integral overtravel preventer. The milled titanium pocket clip provides great retention but is only set up for tip-up, right-hand carry. This is a gentleman's style tactical flipper with supremely smooth action thanks to the ball bearing pivot. Tashi designed this knife with a slender handle yet somewhat large blade so it has a very interesting look while open and is a superb slicing and stabbing design.
This Reate The Future Blackout model is pristine. The lockup is about 20% with smooth release. The blade is dead center when closed. The only thing preventing this from being NIB is that it does not have the COA, extra screws, and microfiber cloth. Since it does not have the fluff items, only the knife and bag, I am willing to let it go for the sinfully low price of 420 USD. I'd prefer to sell this, so any other offers would have to be heavily weighted in my favor.
