Prices do not include insurance. Insurance is optional, but highly encouraged. Seller assumes no responsibility for items that are lost, stolen or damaged once delivered to the shipping service in the
event insurance is not purchased.

I literally just posted about this on another thread. The argument that the seller is not responsible for lost/stolen/missing items during shipping does not hold water from a legal standpoint. The seller IS ABSOLUTELY responsible for the item until it is in the buyer's hands. A seller that ships expensive items without extra insurance is taking huge risk. Paypal will side with the buyer every time.
If you order something online from Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot, Costco, DLT Trading, BladeHQ, Kohls, etc, etc, etc and it goes missing in the mail, they don't tell you "Sorry, not our problem, you didn't buy insurance". They issue a refund or send a new item no questions asked.
This is pretty common sense stuff.

Couldn’t have said it better my friend. 👊

I'm not a business entity like the companies that you have listed. I offered my terms and you don't have to agree to them and you don't have to buy from me. If you're too cheap to buy insurance, you shouldn't be buying anything

If you're too cheap to ship with insurance, you shouldn't be selling anything. If it goes missing, it's on you. You'll lose that fight every time. I've been selling expensive stuff online lately and I always cover myself and buy insurance (I'm not a large business entity). I just add it to the cost of shipping when I list an item. Most buyers are good with it, if they're not....oh well. I ordered $1000 worth of gun parts last Feb and USPS lost them, gone, just vanished. The seller didn't want to return my money after 6 weeks MIA. I had my credit card company reverse the charges. Guess who they sided with and who was SOL?
Good luck to you though. It may take dealing with a lost package, but you'll figure it out.

By using this site you are implicitly agreeing to the rules and conditions it lists, and you are violating these with your sale conditions. Pure and simple, foul is on you here. Beyond the technicalities I imagine your arrogant reply has turned off plenty from wanting anything to do with you, bummer since I was even in the market for that very otf.

You're right, it was against the rules, so I withdrew the ad. I can always make again and just add a markup to include insurance on all sales which would seem to be okay with said rules. Nothing arrogant on my part, just me doing my due diligence to protect my interests in light of this very argument on other knife sites. Whenever I've purchased knives, I've asked for insurance on higher priced pieces and added the cost to the purchase price accordingly, so as I mentioned earlier, I'm not asking anything that I haven't done myself.

There is no argument. You and others who think insurance is optional and or the buyer's responsibility are just plain wrong. This statement from your ad:
"Seller assumes no responsibility for items that are lost, stolen or damaged once delivered to the shipping service in the event insurance is not purchased."

Is pure and utter BS. Until the buyer TAKES POSSESSION (in their hot little hands), the item is still your property. Which is precisely the reason YOU would have to file a claim with the shipping company.

There is nothing to argue about, this is really pretty clear and simple.

Yep I think if you do that then you’re all good and within the rules. Certainly easy to make mistakes and miss the fine print, we all do it! I’m sure your intent wasn’t arrogant, just how it came off to me, no biggie!

That's a great deal for a buyer, no risk whatsoever, all on the seller. I will be sure to include the price of insurance in all future prices so that members like yourself don't get your panties all in a wad

It's not about anyone getting getting upset about it ... it's a legal matter that the seller will be held responsible every time for a missing or lost shipment. Until it's delivered it IS the sellers responsibility plain and simple. Whether a seller elects to protect themselves with insurance is on them ... no matter what you may have agreed to in the past.
