wives and knives support thread

I can think of several hobbies that would get expensive quick, when I was a corporate slave I was into Rolexes (still am but no new buys)... that was expensive and unbelievably addictive... Guns are a little cheaper but still expensive just to use them (bullets, range time, etc.). Knives are a steal in comparison, once you buy them there are no follow up costs and you get to use them every day... guns -- not so much, only on the range obviously.
 
My wife and I have an agreement. She asked me why I needed a new knife, since I already had one. The next time she wanted a new pair of shoes, or a new purse, (she collects purses) I asked, why, don't you already have a purse/pair of shoes, etc.? So when I NEED a new knife, I just ask if it isn't about time for a new purse/pair of shoes? Works for me.:D

I am pretty lucky, my wife is really understanding, as she collects Coach purses (no safe queens for her, she rotates through all of them); that being said, more than one package has shown up at work for me...lol!
 
I have been eyeballing a lot of knives recently and my wife started to get quit upset. I am not even talking about expensive ones but she asked me "How many do you have?" and "How many do you need?". I am not a big collector (of many knives at least) and have maybe 6 in my rotation now. She thinks that's too much. I got to get here a hobby other than cooking shows...
 
I'm into knives, guns and cars, she's into purses, shoes and blingy jewelry. Other day she did ask if I could get her a pink colored knife, looks like I will prob commission Rival to make some custom scales for a knife. At least she doesn't flinch when a knife is expensive. I just know It will prob costing me twice as much as she'll prob buy another purse.
 
I am working on the gf slowly...she carries a scallion currently and even bought me my 0561. She even bought her own firearm!
 
I'm into knives and guns, but my GF is into shoes, and some purses. Which means when I get the "How much did that cost?", I tell her, "About as much as the last pair of shoes you got." If it's a gun and she asks me, I go to the closet and start counting shoes. If she still gives me trouble, I tell her Imelda Marcos called asking to borrow some of her shoes. But overall, I really can't complain. :p

Hey....thats what she wanted so she bought it! No matter the firearm, i am just happy she enjoys it. Now she won't stop talking about that Benelli your wife has!

My Wife does not understand my need to collect knives..but she would rather I do that then staying out late at night playing in bands.
