I usually end up as the one who gives people knives, as it gives me an excuse to buy knives. My brother, who gave me my first real knife, got a benchmade 42 for his birthday.

OwenM, I rarely wear BDU's (halloween costume for a militia guy, or when I want to dress like a thug, when I wear them, I usually wear them very sloppy with my hat backwards). I don't want to be an Army wanna-be type. Those types of folks aren't very cool. I've met one who constantly insisted he was in the Navy or the Marines or something... at the age of 11. That kid was such a dork. Now he thinks he's a firefighter, and he's 17.

BalisongMan, maybe you say stuff like "it takes a killer to stop a killer" around them? And they freak out?

i m 44Y (married, 2 kids, +1 dog) now - but i can remember being 15 to 18 or so - and i m just happy that NOTHING SEEMED TO CHANGE !

Back to knifes: do we look for girls to buy us knifes ? In my opinion they have better things to do!

Heheheh, yeah I have a bunch of sayings but I don't say them to anyone. I don't think I've ever told any of my friends "It takes a killer...to stop a killer" (which is true when you think about it).

It seems all the girls I like have boyfriends (or I think they have boyfriends) and I don't have the guts to ask 'em out or anything. I'm just a wuss

My best friend tells me that if I walk around school without a shirt on that the girls would be all over me, but I think he's just tryin to build up my self-esteem (what's that??) I really enjoy weight lifting but I have a small ego since I know that there are thousands of people in the world who are 100 times stronger then I am. I don't think walking around school flippin knives would get the girls either, maybe I should get my eye pierced and wear clothes that sweep the floor when I walk. Well, enough of my rambling, incoherent, blather......

Hey guys, MY girlfriend bought me a William Henry CF Kestrel last Christmas! Got it from the late Jim Mattis. She really doesn't like knives but enjoyed talking with Jim.

i have bought knifes for 200$
and SHE said: ..ahh ..hmm..ok.!

And i bought knifes for 50$ and SHE showed me realy serious who wears the pants !!!
Not Me (that day) !!

So dont demand a real decision from your wife if you are not very in love with her this time.
I m sure i will get locked out here for the rest of my live, but i have to say this:
The answer of your wife will not be proofed by facts !! but by things like ... PMS... or ...weather ...or ... were the kids brave today ...or ... next time her favorite singer is on TV ... and much more things we man will never understand. :;

I guess I am a lucky one. My parents gave me knives(a "pigsticker" at 12 and all my boyfriends at least didn't mind my hobby. I did lose all but the "pigsticker" in a divorce, the hazard marrying someone who likes the same things. I am now with a wonderful guy that buys me knives, I buy him knives, and soon we will be buying our daughter knives. She likes them too. Our house looks like an armory and if it scares our "friends", well, I guess they ain't friends. Our only problems seem to be arguing over who gets the next knife or sword,who gets to display what where, and the worst chewing out I had was taking a knife on a hike and using it when it was a "display" knife. What are they for anyways?

She has a really good attitude about my collecting. The last knife I bought (BM730) was so expensive (this is South Africa!) that I put it on my c/card budget facility over 6 months. I think it bugged me far more than it did her. In fact I nagged and nagged about how much money I spent and she said it's ok - I work hard and I deserve it

This one (the girlfriend.... and the BM) is definitely a keeper.
