I had a laugh today. We have 3 weddings to go to this summer and my wife comes home after work today with 3 dresses. Total damage was about 500 bucks and I wasn't to happy about it. She said she couldn't wear the same dress more than once and that's just the way it was. Damn all these people getting married! she has a closet full of dresses she's only worn once and Maybe twice. She sure made a fuss a few days ago when I bought a HR. I tried to explain to her that I will wear the INFI more than once and i'll never get to fat to wear it neither. She didn't get it.

But man I'd have alot more guns and knives if I didn't have to keep going to weddings!

Funny. My wife is pretty great about guns and knives.

We used to have an agreement. I got at least one new gun a year, and she got her hair done when it needed it.

I did lawschool, so that got put on hold. Now we have two kids. But I have managed to go through 12 pieces of infi. I have currently only 5 pieces, with another on order (muck).

But in that time, I have not bought a new gun (5 years now).

My condolences, it sounds like you've got another peice of Infi coming to you....;)

Sounds like it's time to go buy a new lead sled to go with your muck! ;)

$500!!!!!:eek: That's not damage, that is a light surface scratch!! Count your blessings including your wife and be happy she's not picking out dresses that cost $500 a piece or even more! :D(also, read this one to her aloud to make her feel better):D

Whelen Nut hasn't seen his wife in two days. He figures by tomorrow, the swelling will go down enough that he might be able to see her out of his left eye. ROFL!

Don't forget she is going to have to buy new shoes for those dresses. Yes I know she has 10000 pairs already but none of the blacks are right for that outfit.

LOL... and let's not forget about the matching handbags to go along those outfits and shoes

That drives me nuts too, man. My wife always needs something new for all these damn weddings, and still somehow complains she has nothing to wear. At least I've gotten her to buy dresses at Mandee's (you guys have Mandees?) which is a pretty cheap place. $50 for a dress and another $50 for shoes isn't too painful.

I've had the same pairs of shoes, sneakers, jeans and dress pants/shirts for years now. I'm a guy who "needs" very little, yet when I "want" something its like WWIII.

A quote that has helped me in times like this:

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference."

In other words, tell her she looks beautiful in the new dresses. Maybe she will follow suit next time you procure a fine piece of INFI. ;)

Happy wife-happy life unfortunately. The first year I got married I got suckered into 6 weddings in the first 12 months. So I do feel your pain bro. I have to agree with wolfdad too. That's just scratching the surface brother. Although 500 is a nice chunk of change, and a nice piece of INFI-she probably could have spent 2000 for nothing different-just a different label. I've purchased quite a bit of INFI since Dec and of course the tides changed when our wedding anniv came up around Valentines this year. Total damage for a pair of stupid earings- $1800. Spent so much, I was only able to purchase one blade at the ECC show. Doh! But I will never say it was not worth it and at the end of the day-that's your wife. If she treats you right and you are both happy-spend whatever you can afford-its worth it. Just as your happy when you get a new piece of INFI and excited over it-taking pictures even. hehehhe. That's how they feel when they get new jewelry or clothes-shoes etc. My wife's mom just passed away too recently, so i did feel obligated to some extent to spend a lot on a nice gift to make her happy and I didn't get her anything great for the holidays-nor did she get me either-due to some money struggles earlier in the year. When she see's a new blade come in the mail now or whatever I purchase for that matter-I just point to her brand new shiny diamond earings to say-STFU!! Great thread guys-I'm sure many of us can relate to this one unfortunately.

I'm very lucky. My wife has far more knives than dresses; as a matter of fact, she CARRIES more knives (in her purse) than she has dresses.

Quite honestly, you people need to have your b*lls reattached if your letting your wives buy multiple $500+ dresses that they wear once. We're still a young and fairly poor couple, but that wouldn't fly. Happy Wife=Happy Life, yes... but that's just ridiculous.

...I mean, I guess its ok if you're the guy buying $500+ knives that sit in safes. Wait... no... at least the knife retains value.

Hmmm, interesting thread...

Here's something to consider--an ex-wife costs far more than any number of dresses or shoes...trust me on this!

Ouch, my wife rarely wears a dress and would not know what to if she had a 500 dollar dress. Guess I am lucky.

But does an "ex-wife" cost more or less than a "wife"...

And whilst on the subject, are we evaluating this purely on a fiscal basis?

Yeah, but you can't put a dollar amount to sanity and happiness. How happy are you now? :D
