WNY Gathering 2011

Ok everyone mark your calendars the dates for the WNY Gathering 2011 are in place. The dates are July 16th, 17th and 18th. Thought we would try a Saturday, Sunday Monday this year. Roger (never too sharp) and I have been in touch with toooj Paul from Ka Bar and he will be coming again for the third year in a row and will be bringing some Ka bar products for us once again. Last year we had 15 show up through out the weekend and had a really great time. Hope to see some new faces and old one as well. More details will be posted as we get them. Thanks Doug (DPKnives)

It is a bout an hour from either Rochester or Buffalo.

This gathering is always a good time. There's fishing, archery, hawk and knife throwing, good food and great people. Last year we had a class on traps and snares too. if you're on the fence about whether or not to go, do yourself a favor and go!
 
The last 2 years everyone seemed to do that. This year I would like to try making a trip to town for most of the goodies once most of us get there, kind of plan things out for the weekend and that way we are not running a lot to the stores. Beer is always good too. I will be posting more details as time goes by. Doug
 
Like last year I am planning on doing the meat for Saturday night. I have asked my boss to borrow their very large grill. So we will have that there to cook with.
 
Should I make some food ? I could bring a large crok-pot full of my famous BBQ'ed beans ? I also have a nice little quiet Honda 2000w generator if power is needed. My crok-pot needs power ? Let me know what to bring. I will bring my full assortment of knives, yes ???

That will work. that could go well anytime for a meal too. Doug

Yup they are it is open to families as well. My wife and granddaughter will be there as well. I will also have at least one dog and I know the lone gunman brings his dog as well.
 
wow i just saw this.
I am from the area originally AND its the weekend my high school is doing their 15 year reunion.
i almost could have made it

alas life happened and my wife fell and broke her leg and we both used all our $$ and vacation time so i wont be in new york this year :(

Sorry to hear about all the FUN (NOT) hopefully things will get better soon. This is the third year and we hope to keep it going so maybe another year you can make it up here. Doug

now that i know about it, i just may try and make it one of these years

since my father moved to warsaw i can even leave the wife with family and have fun lol
 
Will there be a sign at the end of driveway for us non-gps owning individuals ? No house # was given. I have a topo map & got the road pegged but my actual mapping skills are nil.

I do have a small sign I put up and here is the actual address of the house right next to the land. 6325 Oatka Rd Perry NY 14530

JV3 glad to hear you are going to be coming down. You need to get RescueRiley and a few of those Connecticut guys too.
