WNY Gathering 2011

Can people who just want to hang out with other people that like knives come to this event? Do I have to bring money for food or do I just provide my own food? Should I bring all the knives I own?

I'm in NY and my gf is out of town for the weekend so I was looking for something to do. Let me know!

Tony

Disregard the above post. In my excitement I didn't read everything the post had to offer. I think I'll show my face if that's ok. It'll be me, a tent, knives and money for food.

Tony I replied to your email, not sure if you got it. You are more then welcome, it sounds like your bringing all the right stuff. See you tomorrow. Doug

It all kicks off today. Weather will be HOT, and looks like a great weekend in store for all. Hope to see a bunch of people here. Doug

Great weekend! One of the nicest moments was when Toooj showed up with a truck full of toys. He even let us check out the prototype tweeners. It's always great to see Paul at our little get together.

Well, I am back. I don't know if i am qualified to say if it was a success or not, but I think it was. Brought my daughter with me "TwinStick Jr". Met a LOT of great people. Doug & his wife Mary & thier grandaughter McKenzie, Roger, John & MANY more. I am bad with names, so i apologize in advance for not remembering them all. The "HI Kuhkri Guy" was there with an unbelieveable assortment of blades & he also had his (damn you-now i gotta have one-LOL) Ang Kohla Bowie, which is simply amazing. It was chopping stuff about 2" dia with one swipe, & it was not even razor sharp !!! Imagine if it was !!! Lots of great people, including the infamous Paul Tsujimoto from Ka-Bar knives. What a great guy. He got me for $100, but I am now the proud owner of my very own BK11, BK14 & a Ka-Bar WartHog. He assured me it had a full tang & would replace it if i managed to destroy it while batoning. FOR SHAME---I have no pics, but EVERYONE ELSE was taking SO MANY, i figured they would be posting thiers. Oh, & did i mention TWEENERS ? There, i'll say it again, TWEENERS !!! Paul brought one of each of the 3, with micarta handles & thier sheaths. I don't know how much i can say---so, all i will say is that you will want to save some money for these bad boys. They are AWESOME !!! Simply AWESOME !!! I will have to have one of each for sure. Yup, they are THAT good. In true Becker fashion, once you pick them up, they will put a smile on your face. You will also want to save up for some micarta handles, they are simply perfection. There is some other, IMHO, GROUNDBREAKING news, but i will NOT be the one to leak it out. It should make for many a happy people & also, IMHO, for much more sales. I plan to attend next year, for the entire 3 days & 2 nights. I had a GREAT time, met GREAT people, ate GREAT food, & had some GREAT conversations. So, that i dont get too much hate mail, LOL, here some pics of my spoils.

WartHog blade is WIDE !!!

WartHog sheath has 2 retention straps-YEAH, but it also flops like the BK2 sheath if top retention/handle snap is not secured-boo. But it also has a swivel on the back--yeah !!!

Twinstick Glad you and Jr. made it down this year. I did not get to spend too much time with the two of you but the time spent sure was great. You remind me of me the first year we did this and Toooj came up. I ended up with a bk-2 bk-11 bk-9 and ka-bar short heavy Bowie, but I was sure happy with them. Talk to you soon. There have been more pictures posted in W & SS as well check them out too. Doug
