WNY Put Up or Shut Up 2010

Rusty, I don't own much gear and I don't have much in the way of knowledge or skills. Not a problem. I had a blast last year, and this year should be even better!

It sounds fun guys but it's too late anyway. I need to put in the request LAST week to make it. :grumpy: Being a college student and having a part time job sucks. I usually work weekends.

This is something I really wish I could do, but there's just no way that it would be possible. I would like to meet all of you that I'm familiar with from the forum, and you have absolutely no idea how much I would love to talk to Toooj.

Wish I could, but I can't, but I hope everyone has a good time, and takes lots of pictures to share.

Is anyone planning on teaching snare building this year?

John I have asked rescueriley to show us some trap making so I hope he can cover snares.

Tooj is a great guy we met him last year and even though he was there part of the day we had a great time with him. I just wish we could get Ethan up here now. I am sure we will post up some good pictures and it is too bad you cant get here. Doug

I don;t know what I can offer in the way of trap building but I am happy to share what I can.. If anyone has anything specific they want to see let me know.. I will focus on some snares if you guys want...

Anything would be great. Snares, deadfalls, etc. I'm eager to add to my base of knowledge!

Toooj really is a great guy, and really, really knowledgeable. I'd love to pick his brain about some technical stuff.

I'm not sure where Ethan is right now, but I know he's been doing some traveling. He's another really, really great guy, who's a lot of fun to talk to. Knows his stuff, and has a great sense of humor, too.

I'd love to make it back there for one of these meets, but it's a long (expensive) way from San Diego, and I have some things that I can't miss at the VA hospital. Otherwise, I'd be tempted to try to hitchhike.

I hope everyone has a really, really great time!

Last year Tooj held an excellent little sharpening class, and I was lucky enough to have him sharpen my hatchet for the demo!

dawsonbob I have spoken with Ethan a couple of times on the phone, he is everything you have said. The shortest call was about 25 minutes. I would love him to come up. Last year he had prior commitments so he was unable to get here.

I will get next years dates up asap so maybe you can head this way for the third one. Doug

Man, I'd love to do that, Doug. If you can get the dates up, maybe I can start saving my pennies.:D

Not only would I love to see Toooj and Ethan, but I'd love to meet all the other forumites, too. I'm sorry I'm going to miss John Riley's trap making this year — he's become a buddy — but maybe next year.

By next year the VA should have me fixed up well enough that I can do things like that. The thing that I miss most in the world right now, is not being able to hike. Next year, though, next year.

Here is the weather forecast for this coming weekend right from the NWS

For those of us not going...be sure to document with lots of photos guys!

I guess next year, with enough advance planning I'll attempt to fly out. Sounds like a hoot!

I am sure between all of us we can get a bunch of shots. Hopefully we can get some good action shots of us making traps, fires ect. Hope to see you there next year. Doug
