Honestly, I'm impressed with this thing. I'm astounded that I only paid $50 + shipping. A bargain in my book. It's beautiful. The bevels, the handle, everything is top notch. Thank you very much to Kentucky and to Lisa, I'm pleased as punch.

Maybe I can take some better photos later on, but I know several of you have one of these coming.

Matt

That is a sweet looking hawk bevel looks perfect how long is the handle ?

Congratz on that one, M3mphis!

Do you know which steel is used for this?

Beautiful hawk!

Kind regards
Andi

Alright... now I´m jelaous ;) Really a great looking piece ... The smitty-skin makes it look really archaic :)

Kind regards
Andi

Whoah! These are coming through already??!!

That looks soooo good. That highly polished edge really sets of the forged finish.

Can't wait for mine!

Enjoy using her potatoe head.

Ha ha ha!!!!!!! :D Thanks, Bro.

Well, I really wanted one of these, but I had to wait until I had enough money in my PayPal account to say I wanted on the "list".

I could have been the 3rd person on that list, but now it is temporarily closed:(

Oh well, I have something else hawkish coming in the mail tomorrow. Not all is lost! :D

And congrats on your first hawk, you got a really good one:)

This may mean that mine is waiting for me at home!

Time for some updates to the Hawk & Knife and Hawk & Sandwich combo threads.....

They have so many orders at the moment, the list to get one made is temporarily closed until they can catch up or orders. You can go and read all about in this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...n-I-ask-you-Hawk-guys-a-question-Input-please

Keep in mind that Kentucky was only talking about temporarily holding off on taking orders on the "regular stock" 50 dollar wrap and weld hawk. That's my understanding anyway. I'm sure they plan to continue mixing in other products and orders throughout. Again, that's my understanding and not Kentucky's words.

I like the look, too. But keep in mind, a forge finish doesn't have to look like that. If you brush the scale after each heat you can create a very fine finish with just the hammer. Beating on scale gives it a rustic look that is popular these days. But back in the day it would have been called lazy blacksmithing.

You need to make a YouTube video testing it out! :) Also, anyone know when they're taking orders again?

I don't know about the youtube thing...I'd probably be an instant youtube sensation and all the fame would go to my head. The I'd get rich and famous and buy a hummer only to wrap it around a tree because I was stoned and stupid. :p
