woman help! what is a good aftershave?

You want to get some decent bay rum aftershave.

J'adore Caribbean is probably the best you can get. They sell it in a few places like specialty shops and health food stores.

Pinaud Clubman isn't nearly as good, but it is still better than "Stetson" or "Drakkar" and it costs five bucks at any drugstore.

The good thing about Bay Rum is that if you overdo it a little you're not going to make her gag. Very clean scent. Chicks dig it.

Bingo- Beat me to it. Can't go wrong w/ Bay Rum.
Another thing about over-the-counter colognes: If she's ever been w/ a guy who wore cologne "X", the scent will- repeat- WILL remind her of him. The olfactory sense is very closely tied to memory. If she has a good memory of the guy of whom this reminds her, you will never measure up. If the guy was a jerk- guess what, you're in the same small, sinking boat. You Lose either way. Find your own thing- and Bay Rum is a long-lost classic that not many guys know- and it's good at blending with your individual chemistry.

Hugo Boss is one of wife's favorite, and she is hot.

Slate, from Bananna Republic is another one she loves.

Funny enough, classic Old Spice has always gotten me great comments from women as well. It is more an every day thing. But I have had such great comments from many many ladies about that one. They are always shocked when I tell them what it is.

What ever you choose, for the love of Pete, please don't bathe in the stuff. You don't want to overpower her.

Just wear deodorant, seriously. I don't wear a bit of aftershave, but my wife swears I have some sort of scent to me. It's an alpha male thing. Just walk up and pee on her tires, and see what happens.

Honestly, the others are right. Not only is scent perceived differently by different noses, the chemicals of such things react to different body chemistry. I can always tell the women who come into my shop who have bought the wrong perfume. They reek :barf:. I would say that being well groomed and confident is your best bet. Studies have shown that men actually produce different pheromones when they show confidence. Let nature do the work for you. Look her in the eye, be yourself, and the last things she'll worry about is what kind of fake smells you've slathered on yourself.

my wife buys me Hugo Boss, so I guess she likes it...it matters not to me
you want subtle, and you want to use it sparingly...
the scent (or better yet, lack there of) of your body and clothing is just as important
and make sure your car is clean and smells clean...

Hi Danny -

I never buy cologne, my wife picks it out and gives cologne to me as gifts.

The one that has gotten the most positive response from ladies, by far, is Usher He for Men -

It is not floral, it has a nice, clean, "soapy" scent that I like.

I also like Drakkar.

Good luck and best regards -

No aftershave, cologne, AXE or anything. You will put on too much thinkign more is better, smell awful and give the impression you are trying to hard. Don't worry about it.

Ask the girl what she likes.

pete

This is what I try to do... with the good ones. However, some girls can take what they get afaic.

I wear Calvin Klein colognes, I can barely keep my hands off of myself.
