I would like to make this thread, dedicated to all women and girls here on Bladeforums, who have passion for knives.I would like to ask them to post their favourite choices of blades and knives they like and love most,as their collections and all relevant post relating women with knives in general. There are also female part of knifemakers and bladesmiths, who might greatly contribute to this thread.Thank you all for your posts and contributions here.

Kind Regards

A fine topic, but please keep it about knives, lest it suffer the same fate as the last thread purportedly about "women and knives".

I wish the very same as you Guyon,it was sad to see it go-thanks to irrelevant off the topic posts there.

I live out in the boonies on a narrow, dead-end dirt road on a mountain. I own 11 acres of what was once a 240 acre parcel owned and farmed by my grandparents and passed down to my father and his two brothers. My father started taking me hunting with him on this mountain when I was 7 years old and fishing and foraging when I was younger than that.

I hunt, fish and forage on the same land and a good, strong, sharp knife is an essential tool. I've become addicted to Busse and kin knives and when out and about in the woods I find myself reaching for my trail point competition finish Son of Badger. It guts brook trout and rabbits and shaves dirt off mushroom stems with ease and it is a great all-around EDC knife IMO.

My favorite knife? Busse satin Team Gemini with bruiser scales. It's a great chopper and just a beautiful, heavy piece of INFI steel. Plus my favorite color is blue. :D

Great story and an absolutely beautiful knife. Love the Blue and black scale. I just recently got my first Busse. It is the light version but still had to have one. I'll put it to use while camping with my daughter this Spring.

Thank you for your great addition here Liz,(can't open the picture attachment for some reason),so you love Busse's INFI steel? Surely great premium knives to have (i like the look and feel of Battle Mistress and Moab from them guys) great long lasting blades for sure.I always prefered large, rather heavy and thick massive chunk of steel for any utility tasks out in the woods

(I see the attachment now, maybe some time delay in loading Liz,that seem pretty good piece of steel you are using!)

Thanks, guys. This should be a fun thread!

Craytab, your TGLB sounds like a great choice for camping and Seriousblade, I have recently started lusting after MOABs after watching the video posted of cool BF Aussie-guy RobStanley (I think that was his name) cutting up a hunk of sirloin into steaks and chopping down a small tree with his mighty MOAB.

This is becoming an expensive habit, but it's all about choices. I'd rather drop $350 on a new knife than on a purse or a few pairs of shoes any day. :D

I honestly see no difference between women and men when it comes to knives or the outdoors. My Ma always has a stockman in her purse/pocket (usually a cooler full of beer in the trunk too.....).

My wife carries a folder in her purse/pocket, has a couple of fixed blades when we go backcountry or kayaking.

My daughters have a myriad of knives. Some I got them, others they picked up at shows or Gatherings we go to. From SAK's to folders to fixed, they got plenty of steel to choose from when we go out.

Point is, folks need a knife for a happy life, whether they are male or female.

Continuing to make a big deal out of "Women and Knives" continues to perpetuate discrimination of the opposite sex, whether it be male or female. Some of the women we have on the board, I never knew or even cared. It's about knives in our lives. Testes or ovaries, knives are knives. Use 'em, love 'em, but don't lose 'em.......

Cool blade and cool backstory. How do you like the Infi steel?

I also share your opinion on investing into good and reliable blade, however i happend to be in clash and crossfire with busse fans, which is irrelevant to this thread...

Its very interesting to know, that also women,or girls can be in same lust for great blades as we do,never tought of that Liz!

My wife likes her knives, but right now she'd prefer some shoes and purses. ;)
But she does generally carry either a Spyderco Delica (blue) or Lava (stainless steel handle), and can recognize quality right away.

One of the security guards where she works showed her his awesome new "police" knife...
She didn't want to hurt his feelings, so she just nodded and said "Okay", but she told me her thought was "THAT'S not a police knife...I've seen the Police at home, and that garbage knife ain't it."

I'll have to take some pics of her knives at some point.

That is a cool knife.

Is there really a need for a whole separate thread dedicated to women? Is that really what equality looks like?

Most female members seem to be doing just fine mixing in with the guys here. It doesn't appear to me that they have any issues holding their own against the "male majority".

But then again, most of them arent trying to spam the forum or make attention seeking selfie threads, so maybe that has something to do with it. Perhaps those that ARE doing those things actually DO need this separate thread, although I would suggest that it be renamed so as not to lump all of the women on this forum into the same category....

Anyway, I'm sure the participants of his thread can figure things out for themselves. Don't let me ruin this thread for those of you who DO happen like it:)

We have threads here for everything.
As long as it stay focused on knives pretty much, then why not?

Heck, people ask what knife to take running!
This thread topic isn't any more odd than that.

I bought my girl a fiddle back forge sneaky pete tapered tang python camo. She won't let me touch it. Lol

Fair enough, stabby;)
There's certainly been a lot of thread topics far more minor than this one. I would just advise that we remember not to make it seem like this forum NEEDS some sort of special woman thread for women to feel accepted here:thumbup:
