Women and Knives on Bladeforums

I would just advise that we remember not to make it seem like this forum NEEDS some sort of special woman thread for women to feel accepted here:thumbup:

Agreed.
All are welcome here if they like knives...even if all they have is one, and it cost $10. :)

Can I make a Men and Knives thread or would that be offensive and discriminatory?

Go for it.
I'll post in it. :D

Please don't take what I said to mean that I wanted to start an argument over gender. If this thread is to succeed at all, it has to stay on topic.

With that, I'll leave you guys to it

Now, now people, take a deep breath. To save a lot a gender bashing, why don't we have a 'Non gender specific thread just for all the attention seeking wanabe's among us" thread

Is there really a need for a whole separate thread dedicated to women? Is that really what equality looks like?

Most female members seem to be doing just fine mixing in with the guys here. It doesn't appear to me that they have any issues holding their own against the "male majority".

But then again, most of them arent trying to spam the forum or make attention seeking selfie threads, so maybe that has something to do with it. Perhaps those that ARE doing those things actually DO need this separate thread, although I would suggest that it be renamed so as not to lump all of the women on this forum into the same category....

Anyway, I won't offer any more advice as I'm sure the participants of his thread can figure things out for themselves. Don't let me ruin this thread for those of you who DO happen like it:)

There are no intentions by this thread other than stated within its clear description. Please,do accept it as part of Bladeforums,i have no intentions whatsoever to bring any prejudice here against anybody, if you wish so,please feel free to create thread of your own choice and i will be happy to contribute to it without problem if it will be relevant to me and my opinion on topic.

Thank you respectfuly for understanding

I for one warmly welcome the female presence here so as to counteract the ill effects of too much male testosterone and cheap beer on the forum. (Had enough while in the military. ) :D

Relax man, no need for the formal language. I'm not trying to start any arguments or derail your thread.

And I do in fact have my own thread. It's up to 70 pages now, and hasn't needed a single selfie from me to keep it going:D

It's also open to everyone, including women, as is every other thread on BF by default;)

In case some of you were not paying attention in the other thread, drag this one off topic with nonsense and you'll be collecting points. The stupidity in the General forum will cease one way or the other.

Gotcha Morrow.

Enjoy the thread guys, I'm off to the Men and Knives on bladeforums thread:thumbup:

I like women and knives. I've always seen to it that my wives and children had good knives suitable to their uses and ages. And the ones who weren't initially safe with a sharp knife learned to be,. The same way I did. My first wife needed them not only for normal everyday cooking chores and odd uses around the house, but to help clean fish and butcher deer. By the time the second wife came along, they had invented those damn unopenable plastic clampacks. Even knives came in them. And I never could get her to carry an edc knife, or if she did she quickly lost it. I finally bought her a pocketful of those tiny rostfrei wood handled Pakistani/swiss knives and doled one out to her on a regular basis. Without fail she would lose it or break it before it could dull and need sharpening. Some women get it and some don't. And I have to say that many guys are the same way. Yeah, a good woman and a good knife.

How about we make a thread about knives and people with blue eyes? Not to mention a separate thread for people with brown eyes, green eyes, etc. A thread about people 5'8" and shorter and another thread for people 5'9" and taller? How about a thread for knives and people who live in apartments, knives and people who live in houses? This is absolutely ridiculous. Knives have nothing to do with gender. So if the goal is to talk about knives, then let's talk about knives. Leave gender out of it because it's irrelevant, just like your eye color and choice of knife. The last gender thread was made as bait to get people to click on it, and stupid me I was one of the many who fell for it and replied before I had read the entire thread to see it as it really was. Let's stop the absurdity of focusing on gender and instead focus on knives regardless of its owner's chromosomal makeup. The way to do that is to stop making gender threads...

I think the ladies should have a thread to discuss knives. Let's try to be gentlemen!

There is nothing wrong with a thread like this provided the primary focus is knife discussion.

We could just give infractions for trolling the way the moderator warned above.

Please take your own advice and read the entire thread, namely my post #2 and Morrow's post above.
Another attempt to derail, and you'll collect a trolling infraction, as will anyone else who tries to shut down this thread.

I am a woman. I don't need nor want my own gender specific thread to discuss knives, which is why I look at this forum--to look at knives, not to repeatedly have my gender discussed, pointed out, or otherwise brought up time and again. Honestly all this gender stuff is making me not want to be a part of this forum at all. I'm done with this thread.
