Wonder how Queen will be with new owners...

So right now there really isn't anyway to tell if your getting a knife that was made under new ownership or not? I would think they would want to at least tweak their bladestamp a little or something to signify the change. I've really been wanting to try out their #26 Stockman with the curly zebra wood.

My knife certainly has "2013" etched on the blade, but I'm not certain when the new ownership took place. There's also a lot of contradictory info about this knife floating around on the internet... even down to what blade steel is used... but I digress. You are wise to pass on this particular offering. Let's hope some of Great Eastern's excellent QC standards makes it's way to Queen's future line-up!

Glad I read your findings... almost ordered that knife!

I have looked at a number of the 2013 offerings at my local knife shop. Im not extremely impressed. I believe the shields are glued in, the fit and finish is still hit or miss and the ones I saw were 420 series steel, big disappointment. Gosh I hope they get it together, there are so many fantastic older Queen and Queen contracted knives out there, I would be so pleased to see them get back to that point!

About 5 or 6 months ago I bought two Queen stockmans. They are a matching pair, one medium & one large stockman. The fit and finish on them is very nice. They have D2 blades that can only be described as "toothy" sharp. They will not push cut or slice cut a piece of copy paper, but will cut it with a sawing motion.

I hope that they will fix this. A new dull knife isn't very nice.

I've heard that their D2 will sharpen up nicely...I've put them back in their boxes to wait for a cold rainy day this fall to play with them.
I have a several other folders that I can carry in the mean time.
