Wondering if GEC makes French Kate knife with a stainless blade?

I know what you mean Jimmy. If the #28 were available in 440C and their shell and acrylics like they are in 1095 then I would have picked one up for each of my sisters as well. I don't trust them to maintain 1095.

Yeah, that's just it.... rust buckets in no time, lol! ;-)

How about getting the blade blued? Will help with the looming rust...might even give a great contrast depending on the choice of handle.

Another thought, is the blade on the Fr.Kate the same as any other GEC small stainless knives, the 25 and 33 for example? You could perhaps get a forumite to change the blades for you?

Thanks, Will

Blue, itself being a form of controlled rust, is better than bare steel.... but, it is obviously not the level of a stainless steel as 440c is. Did not want to rig anything up.... just pick up a ready made GEC. I had not seen one, but understand that GEC has a line of stainless steel traditionally patterned knives... so was just hoping, that's all. All good. I do believe that GEC missed on this one in not offering a stainless version... would really make it a more viable option for just the average Jane as a purse knife... just my opinion, of course.. oh well :-)
