A sloyd knife is sturdy blade used for quick removal of wood in carving, a smaller, detail knife is used to finishing the carving. This doesn't mean that a super sharp knife like this can't be used for other purposes such as harvesting fruit and mushrooms. If someone wants a leather scabbard I can make one for an additional $20.

52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 60 with attention to a fine grain structure
Convex grind to the edge, no secondary grind
Sabilized figured maple handle with Micara and brass fixtures
Distal taper to the tip
Overall length: 8 inches
Blade: 3 7/8 inches
SOLD delivered within these United States. I have hesitated to post my email address here because of scams, I will message shipping and payment options at sale.

The handle is flattened at the butt for control using the third and fourth finger, this crates a palm swell for comfort

This is a typical way carvers work this type of knife pushing with the left thumb and guiding with the right hand. The curls here are on a test piece of basswood.

Been watching your consistently beautiful work over the past year, and this one has finally tipped the scales for me! Simply gorgeous, and I can’t resist.

I’ll take it! Please add the scabbard too.
