Wood I.D.

Hey guys I purchased this wood thinking it was cocobolo but it looks a lot like kingwood to me am I wrong?

I would sand it down to about 600 grit, wet it, and then take pictures. It is hard to see the actual wood from your current pics.

Looks like cocobolo to me. Kingwood tends to have more of the purple hughes. But they are both on the rosewood family.

Yeah I jumped the gun a little. I will sand and get better pics. I was thinking kingwood due to the larger grain.
